Where would you think are the best restaurants in Houston? For brunch, BBQ, a nice fancy one (I would like to take my gf there), steak, and/or just your favorite restaurant in general. Thanks!

I had the opportunity to go to Brenner's steakhouse the other night and got the 10 oz filet mignon. That may have been one of the finest meals I've ever had.

It doesn't come cheap though; for the party of 9 that we had, the bill was at least $500-$600 before tip.

When I come back to Houston, I always make my first stop at Lupe Tortilla's.

    Depends what you want...

Fine Dining - Umm, not sure, Vic & Anthony's is good (6 ppl $500 including tip)
    Nice Dining - Two Rows
    Mexican - Chuy's or Gringo's
Chinese - Yao's, where else?!? Actually, I've never been there
    Quiet - House of Pies
    My favorite - Freebirds
3am - Taco Cabana, Whataburger, Chacho's (I think that's the name of the place on Westheimer)
    Pizza - Star Pizza
BBQ - Hickory Hollow (maybe not the best, but it's good)

    Pugs

Never heard of this restaurant before, we just found it while driving around and decided to try it.

$1.59 margaritas/$0.99 beers on Mondays and Tuesdays. All locations, all day.

This could really come in handy if you're taking your gf out, ya savvy?

Fine Dining - Mark's - The best meal by far that I've ever had in Houston. You'll pay for it, but it's so worth it. I went with a group of 4 and our bill was about $400, but that included several drinks and a bottle of wine.

Mexican - El Tiempo - I'm a mexican food nut and El Tiempo is by far the best. Check out the location on Washington. You will not be disappointed.

Who likes Italian food? You must try Nick's Italian Restaurant on FM 1464 near Richmond/Rosenberg, located out in the boonies but I gaurantee you, it will be hard for you to say you have had much better italian food than this, the house specialty shrimp is 5 large Jumbo Shrimps coated with a creamy white wine lemon butter garlic sauce served with a side of pasta and salad, the other dish that is popular is chicken pistachio, it is a chicken breast crusted with grinded pistachios, topped with a creamy white wine sauce, artichockes, mushrooms, and sun dried tomatoes....I worked here for 2 years during college, and this place although located in the middle of a farm road drew a packed house every weekend.
