I commend your effort. My nitpicks... - Way to much DRose in that video. Some of them weren't "that" special. His layup against Lebron/Wade I think was his weakest... - AI self alley-oop was in an all star game and no one was really trying that hard to defend. - I'm not a big fan of the "lucky" ones. One of Wade's is a good example. He just goes in there barreling into people looking for the call, hits someone, gets turned, gets the call, throws it up, it goes in. Sure, amazing it went in but the ones where guys are actively trying to avoid a foul and as such turn it into a crazy amazing layup just look so so much better (even if they also happen to get fouled) - Again, commend the hard work. Just thinking of players, though, I have to assume there's a lot more out there. No Dominique? No Nash. No Tony Parker, etc....
I agree that some are just lucky shots. And Brooks's was not acrobatic but was perfectly executed. I appreciate more of execution and body control with creativity. Dr. J's was the classic example of the combination of purpose, creativity and body control.
Dr. J is #1. And how could you leave out OT? <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/V0mD8JckVYg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Probably have to add the Ice Man in the top 3 all time.. He was before my time but I had a coworker who watched the old time greats (Wilt,Dr,Kareem,Bird,Michael, etc) and said that the Ice-Man hands down was the one who held the title as the finger roll/layup player. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/5EjHZJL6Jj8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
