Bev, Harden and Ariza need to be there, for us to have the best combination of defence and scoring. If Smith is fully healthy, he would be my fourth starter for his rim protection, ability to switch, guard on the perimeter, as well as for the randomness he introduces in offence with his playmaking and fast breaks. For the fifth spot there are two options: - Go big with one of Howard/Capela/Dmo: Howard probably cannot hang with Barnes/Green on the pick n roll and he can't switch on the guards that well. Capela would cause spacing issues in the offence. A healthy Dmo with his decent defence (next to Smith who can provide rim protection) and ability to spread the floor would be the best option if we decide to go big. - Go small with one of Brewer/KJ/Beasley/Terry: Terry would get burned defensively. KJ is too inexperienced and his lack of shooting ability would cause hurt our offence. Beas is in theory the best match, since he can score well and is a good match physically with Barnes, but I doubt the coach would trust him to be focused in defence. I think JB will go with Brewer, because of his length in defence, his ability on the fast break and the randomness he can bring on offence. He is a better at passing and dribbling than KJ and he is not afraid to take the open shot. So to sum up (TLDR version): Bev, Harden, Brewer, Ariza and Smith is the lineup with the highest variance that can best match the small-ball Warriors team.
Why does this feel like we are trying to assign Forrest Gump, Karl Childers (sling Blade) warren from there is something about Mary, simple jack and rain man to the Manhattan project? They have about as much of a chance at developing the atomic bomb as any rockets 5 have at beating the warriors in a 7 game series. This group may be physically able and contain the raw individual talent to compete with Golden State, but they lack the discipline, cohesiveness and professionalism required to win.
Just thinking outside the box here. If they go small we should go smaller. Harden can be the 4 and Ariza the the 5 Beverly the 1 Brewer the 3 and KJ the 2. We certainly can switch everything with that lineup but scoring will be tough.
So much rep for you. I was just coming down here to post how depressing all these lineup suggestions are honestly. If you have one with any chance to defend the Warriors death lineup, it can't score... and vice versa. LOL.
We need Harden and 4 Brewers on the floor but since we only have one Brewer we pretty much screwed. .
Beasley should come off the bench so he can create for himself and we can keep scoring with James off the court.
Trying to match up with the Warriors has zero chance of working, The entire league has been doing that for 2 years. I've said all along the best chance to beat the Warriors is to play D-mo and Howard and pound the ball inside. Do I think it will work, no, but I think it has a better chance then what everybody else has been trying by going small.
I think Capelas going to prove to be the best option for showing on the pick and roll and rebounding when they move green to center.
Well, the Wolves beat the Warriors, kind of easily (on a Warriors bad night), by running it down their throat. They put a bunch of athletes on the floor and let them loose, and the Warriors never really got their (excellent) half-court defense set. If only we had waves of young excellent athletic finishers...
Rockets will beat Warriors. Rockets lose to clippers in 2nd round. Spurs beat Clippers in WCF. Lebron gets revenge on SA and wins championship and leaves Cleveland the very next day. Book it.
