Craig Biggio and Warren Moon get honorable mention but I gotta go with the big fella, once again.

    Did I forget anyone else?

    Great poll.

    Carl, as in Carl Lewis.

I vote for Hakeem, but Malone should be up there.

    And so should Nolan Ryan.

As much as I love the Dream, I have to go with Earl. The way other football players talk about him is what does it for me. If it wasn't for television, you probably wouldn't believe half the stuff he could do on the field.

Damn, I thought of Moses but Hakeem is better. Missing 'The Alvin Express' is shameful. My bad.

The best Houston athlete ever is Beyonce Knowles.

Don't really care for the music, but I'd let her slam dunk on me in a game of one-on-one any day of the week!

Now that I think about it, I might have to go with Carl Lewis, he's the greatest track and field athlete ever, not many people would argue against that. The guy won medals in 4 Olympics, absolutely ridiculous.

I think that there could be a case for Jesse Owens as well.

Technically he played for Bellaire, not Houston.

Carl lewis should be winning this poll, hands down. He could run faster and jump higher and further than any of those other athletes...and he did it for a longer time. Maybe he lost some popularity after that embarassing attempt at the national anthem at that one baseball game... Damn, I still feel bad for him just thinking about it.
Still Lewis is easily the best 'athlete'.

Nope. I forget which high school he played for, but he never played for Bellaire.
