Best Heavy Metal Album? Crest Of The Knave - Jethro Tull !!! hahhahahhahahahahahah! And The Best Heavy Metal Performance Goes To ... a Flautist? - 1989 - It was surprising enough when Jethro Tull's album Crest of a Knave was nominated in the Grammy's best hard-rock/metal category, but it was shocking when their album won the Grammy, beating out the likes of Metallica. Why the Tull album was even on the ballot remains a mystery. A few years later Metallica did win a Grammy, and during their acceptance speech thanked Jethro Tull for not releasing an album that year (tongue in cheek, of co
Judas Priest- Steeler, Diamonds and Rust Iron Maiden- Hallowed Be Thy Name, Killers, The Trooper (I could go on and on about this band) Micheal Schenker- Assault Attack (Great album), Attack of the Mad Axeman, Captain Nemo (I dare anyone to show me a better guitar song than this one) and of course probably the best metal song ever "Armed and Ready" Scorpions- Love Drive, Blackout Def Leppard- Anything from High 'N' Dry (except bringin on a heartbreak) These are just a few off the top of my head. I may have gotten it but my eyesight has gotten so bad I couldn't read it. It's going to be hilarious when I'm jamming Hendrix at the old folks home.
metallica, megadeth, slayer, ozzy, preist, anthrax, tool, panetera... they all have classics, and everyone can argue why their heavy metal song is better than the other... i for one will go with one by metallica, but others will say differently.
and this is only one of many reasons why The Finn* is the master. which he then re-emphasizes by postin a Lita pic.. we miss you around here Finn...hope life is treating ya well.
How in the hell is everybody forgetting the pillar of heavy metal- satan? Come on, people. The two best Heavy Metal songs are: "Highway to Hell" -AC/DC and "666, The Number of the Beast" -Iron Maiden Metal, b****es.
Good call, I was about to mention this one. AC/DC - Thunderstruck, Hells Bells, Back in Black, You Shook Me All Night Long are all solid Megadeth - Symphony of Destruction Guns N Roses - Welcome to the Jungle
If you listen to Voivod's "Nothingface" album, you will shoot sparks out of your butthole. In a good way.
Bands listed in this thread that I wouldn't call metal - Ozzy Guns N Roses Sammy Hagar AC/DC Led Zeppelin Korn Faith No More Quiet Riot Queen MC5 Alice Cooper The Who Jethro Tull Scorpions Def Leppard Nelson Winger Danzig
well...actually...depends on which version of Ozz's band you are referring to. Blizzard = heavy metal current version != heavy metal now, altho you are technically correct that those listed arent metal per se...most of the bands you list actually would be classified in a subcatagory of metal....be it hair metal (QR, Winger, Leppard) or numetal (korn) the rest are just simple hard rock (GnR, Sammy, ACDC)
Favorite Song ---> Nothing Else Matters 2nd Place ---> Judas Priest - Screaming For Vengeance And my all time favorite metal album from start to finish....
Lots of the already mentioned songs are favorites of mine too, a few more that wouldn't make a greatest metal song ever list but still kick ass. Pantera - Domination Iced Earth - High Water Mark Deep Purple - Burn Iron Maiden - Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Aces High Metallica - To Live is to Die Opeth - The Drapery Falls, Black Rose Immortal Slayer - Skelatons of Society One more from the Rust in Peace album, Five Magics.
