At the end of the day rockets current championship aspirations rest on the shoulders of a 33 year old cp3. Without cp3 or similar level replacement we are 6 seed at best. Thats assuming we retain capela. I cant see us taking on aldridge amd as long as dantoni we need more capela and lesss aldridge back to basket guy. Similar level replacement to cp3 is very few players. Cp3 gets us there and our missing link. But at 33 you have to save him and rest him big time in year. Conclusion we run cp3 to the ground against gs and hope a trio of harden cp3 capela plus morey parts is enough. It looks like it is enough to beat the warriors so we run with that. demarcus cousins comes to mind but NO will be in top 4. julius randle is another but dont know salary situations. This board loves them some bazemore and kevin love.
In no particular order, and I have no idea what market value is anymore ... Ellington Bellinelli Avery Bradley KCP Joe Harris
Butler value is definitely lower than Kawhi, Leonard is a MVP caliber player, Butler is not. I also don't think Boston would have any interest in Butler at this point, they had in the past, but i think that ship has sailed, they got Hayward, Brown and Tatum...Philly on the other hand yeah, i can definitely see them going after him hard, hopefully he will say he wants to be here, i mean, at this point every star ends up where he wants (outside of George who may actually still do that soon lol). I think the rumor about extending Gordon make sense in this scenario, we should be able to lock him for more years on a similar deal of the current one, that should raise his trade value especially for teams in small markets.
Morley is going to do what he always does. Build a team that makes it to the WCF. Then the very next season break it all up.
Ariza is probably gone so we need to keep luc amah booty. Probably have some low risk /cheap moves like Andre Ingram. Maybe look at Ty lawson to see if he’s an alchie again.
Another ball handler with good D. I hope someone steps up. Don't want to run CP3 into the ground. Limit his minutes like we've been doing with Nene.
if you dont resign capela look for another option at center also look get one of the option on the summerleague roster for a call up to training camp lot of talent on that summerleague roster also looking at the point gaurd spot in the summerleague is good and also look to resign Brook Lopez at C or maybe a Demarcus Cousins

best moves now are to bring back our top 6 guys and add a strong 7th man with the MLE. guys i'd target are: t.evans, barton, gay, KCP, bradley, redick, j.harris, ellington.
i would try to offer capela in a S&T for either tobias or middleton. they fit our style and fill a need for a 3rd scorer/creator. i'm hesitant to give capela the max but we can't afford to let him walk either. trading for either of these guys would be best. then sign KOQ or amir johnson with the MLE.
I love Capela but he is NOT a max player. If someone offers him a max deal you go after Jordan or another athletic big. Jerami Grant isn’t as big as Capela but he would be a great compliment to the offense with Harden and CP3 given his athleticism. If anything go after Randle. He’s every bit as good running the floor, rebounding, and defending, and he has a MUCH better touch offensively. I’m fact, he actually has a jumper whereas Capela has NO outside shot. He scores entirely on dunks and layups. Again, love the guy but giving him the max would be stupid,
I get your point and I totally agree with you - there is far too many people who think Anderson's 20mil cap hold would solve all our problems and we lose sight of the fact that Anderson is still one of those rare legit stretch 4s. Maybe $20mill is too much but players of his caliber but even with his struggles this season I think his market is still in the 12-15k range so it isn't a blatant overpay. The radioactive contract notion is more a reflection of all the teams that overpaid in the aftermath of the cap spike - you can see that even this year with only 3 teams in the entire league having enough money to absorb a max contract like Lebrons - most teams are operating at a place where Anderson's contract would put them into the luxury tax which depresses his value because I think everyone would agree he isn't worth going deep into the luxury cap for. Ironically we are one of the few teams who Anderson could actually be worth going deep into the luxury cap for if only his shooting regained it's previous efficiency and range. Anderson is still a guy who can swing a game if he gets hot and you can't say that about a lot of players in the league...not to mention he has that extended range that gives teams fits trying to guard him while still trying to help on a Harden/Paul drive - AND he's still a good teammate.
Backup plan, Leborn pg kawahii ad cousions kevin love, marc gasol, jordon, we must have one more big 3 and eric gordon. See if we can bring back lou Williams and Michael beasley
