So if he just let the ball bounce, high five, then continue the dribble he would have been fine.

We need to sign her to boaster our defense for the playoff, particularly against the dub. But we have to waive a player to create space for Beard's Mom. We might just waive the Beard since the Mom has the best defensive efficiency in the league.

He should have taken his hand off the ball and then high fived her. IIRC, it's not a turnover unless you're touching out of bounds and the ball at the same time.

That's what I was thinking, but you would probably get thrown out afterwards and maybe prevented from future games, so it had better be a good one like Steph or KD on a corner three for a buzzer beater during an elimination game.

I thought you couldn't go out and back in and touch the ball on the same possession?

Should we consult the NBA last two minute report to make sure this was the correct call?

The league is going to have to take a look at this.

The smile I had for this moment was immediately wiped away by the Jazz trying to score needlessly afterwards.

We showed class and dribbled out the clock on their home court, but they couldn't extend the same courtesy. Not really surprising coming from that organization.

Player probably had a friend with a bet riding on the spread. Not sure what the spread was, just thinking of possible reasons.

Only the leading team can show class and dribble the clock out. The trailing team would look like quitters if they didn't at least throw up a shot, if only to make the score look a little better [or pad your own stats].

As far as I know, you have to re-establish both feet inbounds before you can touch the ball again. I'll do a little research to find the rule.

I found the rule, it depends on control... If you have control immediately before going out of bounds (like dribbling), you can't be the first to touch the ball when you re-establish yourself inbounds. If the ball is a loose ball, then you CAN be the first to touch it. Re-establishing is defined as having one point of contact on the court while not also being out of bounds at the same time.

That was it. Thanks for finding that. Wouldn't that mean that CP3 wouldn't have been able to take his hand off the ball, high five her, and then resume the dribble though, wouldn't it?
