    seems he damns Tori Amos with faint praise... "flattering" "good breakfast music" "Courtney and me would do interpretive dances to it"...

    here are other things mister Cobain has disagreed with at one point or another: Pearl Jam's relevance to the seattle sound labeled "grunge"... and general musical authenticity... "Nevermind", his own album's merit and worth... which is now well regarded as an indisputable classic album... himself, and life with a daughter being worth living for...

    it's also ironic that he would genuinely be flattered by a cover of the song whose popularity he most despised... he actually felt his work went slighted, as he felt "Drain you" should've been the one, from that album, to've received the praise and success "Smells like Teen Spirit" had...

    Whenever the cover song is considered "the" version you know that, while the song may have been written by one artist, it's the cover artists who "got it right". I think "All Along the Watchtower" is the best example of that.

    Another great example is this:
