What does Biden provide aside from being male. BTW I think we can assume her running mate will be male.

The blue collar base, many of which are now making half as much as before are amenable to Bernie. It is a mistake to think they are necessarily not responsive to his message.

A "progressive spoiler candidate" Hopefully you don't consider Obama to be that progressive. He was certainly not a spoiler.

Biden has the folksy charm factor that neither Hillary nor Obama has. They're more considered elitist or professorial than the avg Joe.

The blue collar base will always be suspicious of northerners that doesn't relate to them such as working in labor or the military. The policies he proposes benefits them but doesn't speak to them specifically, so the skepticism is there and can be played upon by a candidate with the proper bona fides.

Yes, we can say that Obama was billed as a progressive spoiler candidate. Much like Dubfick, actual results vary once they're in.

I like Biden and partly for his folksiness, but mainly because he was purportedly the dove in the Obama administration.

So you are just only concerned with the southern blue collar base?,

It is the very very clear and believable economic message of Bernie that can hopefully get the white blue collar voters to abandon voting on their prejudice or southern pride for the Romneys and the Bushes.

Bernie is going to the South, to appeal for their votes directly but he cannot appeal to their frankly outdated prejudices against blacks, unions or the North where the Dems traditionally win national elections.

We'll see how it goes, but that region goes more by trust and appearances, i.e. the beer test, than abstract appeals to reason.

Good for you for taking down those rich assholes...does that give me more money or benefits? Or does that mean other assholes stand to get richer?

With someone like Biden, who has a long history with blue collar workers, they'd trust him more to look out for them rather than forgetting promises after a vote

I highly doubt if Clinton wins the nomination Sanders will be her VP. I think that both of them being close to and above 70 will mean that Clinton will most likely want someone younger to balance out the ticket generation wise.

Weekend @ Bernie's Redux? It's a great idea. Bernie is off on his campaign road while we take care of his place for months at a time.

Clinton's running mate will be one of the Castro twins.

    Did she tell you that?

Those dudes are lightweights. I want to be impressed with them but every time I see them, I am underwhelmed.

If I were Ms. Clinton, I would be asking Biden to be on the ticket now. The VP needs to have the balls to step into the job, under duress.

I'd guess Bernie would consider the VP slot to be a warm bucket of piss.
