It doesn't matter with this GOP...it's actually their strategy. Throw out accusations, even completely baseless ones, and repeat them enough times and they eventually become part of the narrative.

It's propaganda 101 played perfectly, and it's really the only useful tactic the GOP still has. It's just a shame that the manipulation of the population is so easy and so effective.

Second Republican Congressman Admits Benghazi Committee Was ‘Designed To Go After’ Clinton

“This may not be politically correct, but I think that there was a big part of this investigation that was designed to go after people and an individual, Hillary Clinton,”

In September, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) argued that one of House Republicans’ successes has been using the Benghazi Committee to drive down Clinton’s poll numbers. Though McCarthy tried to walk back his controversial comments, Rep. Richard Hanna (R-NY) argued on Wednesday that the Majority Leader had it right to begin with.

So when are Americans going to stand up and demand an investigation into how republicans have exploited the deaths of four Americans for political gain for the last 3 years????

And then this happens....Simmons was one of the first to call for the Benghazi commission to be created .

Fxo News’ Go-To Obama-Hating ‘CIA Operative’ Charged With Lying About Being In CIA.

Wayne Simmons, a favorite guest of Fox News, is facing up to 35 years in prison for falsely claiming that he had worked for the Central Intelligence Agency for decades.

Simmons had been a frequent contributor to Fox because right-wing audiences loved the way a “CIA operative” tore into President Obama’s military strategy. The network gave him a blank check to say whatever he wanted – no matter how crazy it sounded – because of his supposed intelligence background.

Yeah, many little guys like Citizens United in which 158 families are funding the elections. American "Libertarianism" in action as opposed the pseudo philosophical line the wealthy right wingers have fed them.

    www.nytimes.com/.../2016-presidential-election-super...

    The New York Times
6 days ago - Just 158 families have provided nearly half of the early money for efforts ... in the first phase of the campaign, a New York Times investigation found. ... well over half the money in the presidential election -- the vast majority of it ...

Where was the investigation of why Bush ignored the report that Al Qaeda wanted to fly planes into buildings?

I mean could you imagine what Republicans would have done if Obama/Clinton were around when 9/11 happened. They would have been impeached for that. It would have been every email and every note and they would have had gleefully given them public rectal exams.

I mean, Bush screwed up ignoring the memo. And yet somehow Clinton screwed up bigger on Benghazi??? Give me a break.

    NOW we have a scandal!

Gowdy altered documents in order to make false allegations against Clinton

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Maryland), the ranking member of the eGhazi committee,, makes a startling charge against Rep. Trey Gowdy, the Chairman of the eGazi committee:

"To further inflate your claim, you placed your own redactions over the name of the individual with the words, “redacted due to sources and methods.” To be clear, these redactions were not made, and these words were not added, by any agency of the federal government responsible for enforcing classification guidelines."

    Gowdy confesses

He's making the claim that emails shared by Clinton were classified when in fact they were not.

CIA calls Trey Gowdy a liar (is anyone surprised?)

CIA Debunks Gowdy’s Allegation That Clinton Email Contained Classified CIA Source

Contrary to your claims, the CIA yesterday informed both the Republican and Democratic staffs of the Select Committee that they do not consider the information you highlighted in your letter to be classified. Specifically, the CIA confirmed that “the State Department consulted with the CIA on this production, the CIA reviewed these documents, and the CIA made no redactions to protect classified information.”

CIA: Trey Gowdy Altered Documents To Frame Hillary Clinton

In a bombshell revelation, the Central Intelligence Agency reached out to Democrats serving on the Select Committee on Benghazi on Saturday to confirm that Chairman Trey Gowdy had altered documents provided to the committee by Hillary Clinton.

Alright, so what's the name of this person, which is not classified? The letter from Cummings was a monster slam, but I can't help but be suspicious if he won't speak the guy's name. Privacy my ass. This is now an issue of public interest. If you're going to say his identity being revealed isn't a problem, then publish it. Let's do some interviews. Not that I don't trust the CIA (lol), but I'd really like to hear how it's totally cool how this person's identity isn't classified.

Well, Trey Gowdy f-ed up and accidentally revealed the name himself.

    http://www.politico.com/story/2015/10/trey-gowdy-release-cia-source-name-benghazi-committee-214919

Gowdy appears to accidentally release CIA source's name

House Benghazi Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy appears to have accidentally released the name of a CIA source in the midst of a back-and-forth with Democrats about how sensitive the information was and whether its presence in former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's private email account constituted a security breach.

The email posted Sunday on the panel's website included in one instance the name of Mousa Kousa, a former Libyan government spy chief and foreign minister. The name appeared to have been redacted in several other instances, but was included in a subject line of a forwarded email.

The redacted email was released at Gowdy's direction "so the American people could decide for themselves regarding concerns about sources and methods," the Benghazi committee said in a statement. The committee replaced the document online Monday morning with another version in which Kousa's name does not appear.

    ...

The CIA normally would treat the names of its alleged sources as confidential. However, Kousa's contacts with U.S. intelligence have been publicly acknowledged for years.

    ...

While it's unclear how much information Kousa was giving to Western officials at the time the email was sent, the former spy chief's role was being bandied about publicly at that time. A mention of Kousa in former CIA director George Tenet's memoir was referenced in a New York Times story the day before Blumenthal sent the email in question to Clinton.

    Accidentally? Or, "accidentally"?

Anyway, that is about the most anticlimactic way of revealing the source. If Cummings had put it in his letter, it'd have been a great smackdown. Or Gowdy can have announced it, saying, Ok if it's so safe then let's shout it from the rooftops. Instead, it's just a leak, and a leak of a name that apparently is completely safe. So, it's just a case of deception by a completely incompetent politician. Don't we have enough of those yet?

    BOOM!

Democrats on Benghazi Committee Release 124-page Report

    EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This report has been prepared on behalf of the Democratic Members of the House Select Committee on Benghazi to summarize the results of 54 transcribed interviews and depositions conducted by the Select Committee.

The report concludes that none of the witnesses substantiated repeated claims that Republican Members of Congress and presidential candidates have been making about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the past three years relating to the attacks in Benghazi.

The report also releases key excerpts from unclassified interviews conducted by the Select Committee and calls on Chairman Trey Gowdy to release the full transcripts of all interviews and depositions conducted to date, consistent with classification guidelines.

Finally, the report provides additional information about Secretary Clinton’s actions during and after the attacks.
