Cool. I guess Lou chose one of the winning sides.

At his age a good decision on his part.

Hey, can you comment on the value of those picks?

There are also several tweets that say Rockets were offering the only 2017 pick. While the others technically could be better picks in the future, tweets say Magic placed added value on being in this draft.

    • did anyone else offer a 2017?
    • And do you as a fan feel Magic should have gone with the Jazz or Wiz offer

Lou never once complained - through B. Scott and through this year he has been a GREAT leader from what I have been told. He helped the young guys and he lead with his work ethic. Lou is a hard worker. Lou is so respected in the league - also, I heard a big reason Lou came was to play with Kobe last year and now Kobe is gone.

I was told there were multiple first rounders offered from various teams.

WOJ reported that the Wizards offered this year's 2017 pick.

So the new Lakers GM was essentially negotiating with himself to get Lou to his preferred destination?

From everything I've read, the new GM wasn't involved in this trade. Magic was the one who worked the phones and Magic worked with Lou Williams's agent to send him where he wanted to go.

    Thank for the interesting tidit.

I've always liked Magic Johnson, both as a player and as a person. Totally cool guy.

Lou Williams with his play and lifestyle could easily become one of my favorite Rockets "players". :D (see what I did there?)

Thanks for the info. Just comes to show the importance of winning and not being dysfunctional when attracting player.

If last season wasn't such a mess, we could've been in the picture for Durant. Oh well.

Pelinka is both Harden and Lou's agent. And now GM of the Lakers.

I'm pretty sure his agent is Wallace Prather.

Pretty sure that he was with that agent primarily because he was Kobe's long term agent (Harden is a big Kobe guy). Most likely Harden will get a new agent and continue his role in Houston where he has significant influence on team operations and already has started building his own legacy

Forget that front-running, choking, 3-1 lead-blowing bandwagon joiner

Then I'm confused, how did Harden ask Pelinka for a solid if Pelinka was not even involved? Help cyberex!
