I wonder if it would be possible or desirable (to anyone besides me) for there to be a "take it outside" type of place on CF, for when posters want to get personal and basically go off on each other. It gets really old in the GARM sometimes when there are pages of 2 posters just hitting each other below the belt, calling each other things that would get them punched if this was real life... D&D-style poo-flinging, but it's about the Rockets (ostensibly anyway). Maybe just a sticky thread in the D&D? Something where we could just say "you guys take it to the Thunderdome thread", or whatever it would be called. Sometimes you just want to enjoy a damn basketball thread. I know it's part of being a sports fan, sure, you get hot, that's FINE, I just don't want to have to wade through all the poo every time... Anyone?
It could be like the R-rated GARM. People could go there expressly to get their fix of thread rage. There's probably a similar subreddit out there... It could become perfomative, like WWF. People would have their favorite gladiators -- two men enter, one man leaves... "Hey you two", we could say, "people are paying good money to read this **** over in the Thunderdome thread."
love the idea of a Thunderdome forum but if you take away the internet tough guys' audience they will have nothing to live for
Put me down as a Thunderdome sticky in each forum fan. @Os Trigonum doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Thunderdome gives true interweb fans a place to restore their faith in the internet.
I think it's a good idea, but I don't know that the mods and staff will have the time to enforce it consistently.
