Edit: Looks like the original report was wrong. The Fiesta and Orange Bowls organized a swap to get inter-conference matchups:

    http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2836420

NT Game: LSU vs Ohio St

    Rose Bowl: USC vs Illinois
Fiesta Bowl: Oklahoma vs West Virginia
    Orange Bowl: Kansas vs VaTech
    Sugar Bowl: Georgia vs Hawaii

If this is true I'm not excited about any of the games and probably would just watch the National Title Game. None of the other match-ups are 'can't miss TV' IMO.

Looks like Missou got jobbed. They beat two teams that are going to BCS bowls, Illinois and Kansas.

Sorry I won't shed any tears for Mizzou. They had control of their own destiny and lost to OU. Lost to OU twice...that's why Kansas got the nod.

    All of those games suck.

nah, it's a bit of bull****. The only reason they aren't in the BCS is because they lost a game Kansas wasn't good enough to play in. Would've been better for them to lose that game and get into the BCS after OU beat Kansas.

That's a lame list of games. The Championship Game is the only one that's remotely interesting to me.

After Mizzou got blown out by OU, I have no sympathy for them at all.

UGA and Hawaii could be a fun one to watch.

    That's about it.

Ug, don't match two big 12 teams in a BcS bowl game.

A 10-2 Mizzou wasn't going to get in over a 12-1 Kansas in your scenario.

That's the most absurd logic I've ever heard. Why should Mizzou have to beat OU but Kansas shouldn't?

After this year and the love Kansas and Hawaii got, I hope Mizzou drops the Illinois series for the next three years. What possible incentive is there to play any kind of decent non-conference team? Just take four non-conference victories and go from there. It's disgusting that playing out-of-conference competition isn't rewarded, but the voters have created that climate, so Missouri and other teams need to adjust to it.

Sure knowing Mizzou lost the Big 12 title game, it would have been better for them to lose to Kansas and get an at-large bid.

But beating Kansas allowed them to play for a conference and national title - bigger stakes.

Do you not understand that Mizzou was beaten in a game Kansas wasn't good enough to play in? And by a team they never played? The result of the game is irrelevant; it doesn't matter if OU had won 65-0. By virtue of winning head-to-head and winning the Big 12 North, Missouri has clearly established itself as a superior team and selection to Kansas, without question. What possible relationship does the Big 12 title game have to that?

Ask Auburn in 2004. Playing Louisiana-Monroe, Citadel, and LaTech put them at #3 in all the computers and cost them a shot at the national title. Had their been a handful of 1-loss teams this year, Kansas would have been at the bottom of the list to get in the national title game. LSU beating Virginia Tech is likely what puts them at the top of the computers amongst all the 2-loss teams. Mizzou beating Illinois is what put them above a 1-loss OSU and 1-loss WVU in the computers before this weekend.

There's plenty of reason to schedule good OOC teams. Just because it didn't work out in one instance doesn't mean anything.

Should #18 Tennessee have gotten into the BCS over #4 Georgia? They faced the exact same situation. Tennessee was beaten in a game Georgia wasn't good enough to play in, by a team Georgia never played, and Tennessee won head-to-head over Georgia.

Hilarious. The BCS is once again a laughingstock. A 9-3 Illinois slips into the Rose Bowl ahead of many more deserving teams by virtue of being in the Big 10. Kansas and Oklahoma playing in a glorified Big XII conference game.

Fine, I'll add two more qualifications. If Tennessee were ranked ahead of Georgia in both the polls and the BCS and didn't have two more losses than Georgia, then yes.
