[basketballholic] One of Butler/Kawhi/Winslow/Oubre is a Rocket come March. And maybe even sooner...

Well, it depends on what you are willing to give up. A Gordon/Capela package would bring back Butler and probably would have gotten Kawhi from SA. Not saying we should, but we do have assets. But no, Qi. Wright, and a crappy first won't bring much back.

It is NOT all speculation. But there is some speculation in my comments.

Some? Mr 'holic, just please connect the dots on your list. If you opine any dots align then please report how each of the any could/would likely end up in TheToyShop.

I contend that you cannot on any but one, which still would not occur. One. And it. will. not. occur.

Please be real instead of really silly.

We are interested in all four guys. I speculate one will be a Rocket by the deadline.

Sir, please speculate how 'we' will acquire any of Butler, Leonard, Winslow and Oubre in a deal where both teams are satisfied sufficiently to both. just. say. YES.

Because, I 100% believe you could NOT for any but maybe/somehow/alternate thinking universe/Oubre*.

*KO is yet another Wiz knucklehead tho redeemable. Tell me Porter, ok slight maybe. Tell me Morris, I'd say Shirley. You cannot even begin to describe a deal for any of the other three that both teams say, 'It's gold, call it in to Silver!'

Butler to Knicks for THJ and assets?
Butler to Rockets for Knight, 1st, Clark?
    Butler to Miami?

    Rockets:
    • Jimmy Butler ($18,691,627)
    Timberwolves:
    • Eric Gordon ($13,500,375)
    • Nene Hilario ($3,651,480)
    • 2019 First Round Pick
    • 2020 Second Round Pick

This is the only a realistic trade Wolves would agree to with the Rockets if they knew Butler was gone in free agency. That other proposal of Brandon Knight and peanuts is laughable.

There are too many other teams with better packages to offer. Morey needs to preempt this trade and keep Butler away from the Lakers similar to what Thunder did with George in order to re-sign him later.

Lastly, for anyone whining about losing Gordon. Get a grip. We're talking about acquiring a third All-Star and one of the best defenders in the league. I would happily give up Gordon for that.

It would take EG, PJ, and picks to get them to answer the phone. Doubt that's enough. Fun to imagine Paul, Harden, Butler, Melo, and Clint going up against GS in the Western Conference Finals. Butler is going to push for Lakers or Knicks.

Gordon, Zhou, 2019 1st, salary filler for Butler

That's probably the best offer we will make for him.

Gordon+Chriss+2 future first rounders and the rights to Sergio Llull is probably the best we can afford to pay but I would go ahead and do so. I think Butler cares about winning and that if he is paid and winning AND close to Tomball then he would stay.

Minnesota and DC are two teams that might put real value on a soon to be 30 year old Gordon. They're both looking to make the 2nd round and reward their fan bases for decades of disappointment. And the Wolves need veteran leadership... just not Jimmy Butler's extreme form of it.

The Wolves are afraid of Butler walking. The Wiz are afraid of Porter staying.

If by "interested in," you mean "Morey is well-known for the kicking the tires on literally EVERY elite-level player because you never know when poking around might eventually lead to something more concrete," then you're -- against all odds -- probably right for once. Congrats!
