My current basketball goal of roughly 10 years broke and I'm in the market for a new one. I've been looking around and am finding what I believe to be decent deals on portable 50-54" goals. I'm just having trouble deciding on which to buy since some of the goals are using different materials for the backboard (what's the best?). I'm leaning towards the Spalding (first link). These are the ones I'm looking at: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=9893863 http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5184074 http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5716391 I'm trying to keep it at/below $300 but wouldn't mind spending up to $350 or so if anyone else knows of anything better.
Out of curiosity, what do the goal systems cost that are advertised on 610? The ones where they come and install them and have the tempered glass backboard with adjustable rim, spring rim, etc. I've always felt that when I finally move into the house that I want to stay at for long term that I would spend big dough to have a really nice basketball goal put in at my home. Is it up in the thousands? Anyone know?
I didn't email this guy specifically but I did email another person on CL. Totally forgot looking there, thanks Yaozer. If that falls through, I think I'm going to go with the Lifetime 52" (third link).
This is no way helps with the thread, but my basketball goal is about 10 years too. Half of the top backboard is missing from balls hitting it on the top, but still good. The rim's still there
