They have got to speed up the games, they are just to darn slow. I would watch more games if it didn't take up a 3 or 4 hour chunk of my weekend. Going to a game and drinking for that long is trouble as well, both for the billfold and the ride home. Extra cash for the cab, if that is even an option.
I was at Shea last night and saw the 31,000 number posted. No way in hell there were more than 25,000 people there. That had to have been one of the worst played games I've ever been to. Lugo couldn't remember how many outs there were, Chen sucks, Kent misplayed a double-play early in the game, Alomar made some lazy plays, and Big Mo is the worst defensive first basemen in the history of the game. Only positive in the game was Berkman's monster shot in the 9th, batting right-handed with the wind blowing in.
Not to mention that last night Wade Miller had the control of a 13 year old boy on a viagra high in an adult bookstore!
Can't believe I forgot about that. I think he actually bounced a few in front of the plate. Half the Mets fans were yelling for him to be ejected after hitting Bell and brushing back someone else, the other half(the smart ones) wanted him to keep pitching. With Benitez closing, the Stros were still in it until the final out.
Yeah, Benitez is fun to watch. So unpredictable. The Astros, on the other hand, have been tough to watch on this roadtrip. If someone in law enforcement could put out an all points bulletin to locate Lance Berkman's bat, that would be a start. The other thing would be to give the position players a refresher course in fundimental defense. The only Astros that have been earning their money lately have been Jeff Bagwell and Brad Lidge.
In fairness, this year it has been significantly colder up here than last year, not too many pretty spring days yet. (remember, the Yanks home opener was snowed out) There are other factors at work though.
