While i disagree that Klay is the best 2 guard (i think Harden is), there isn't actually anything wrong w/ the statement in theory. Best does not equal MVP. For example, let's pretend Harden is a SF. I would make the statement that LeBron or Durant is the best SF in the league, but Harden is the MVP this year.
Yes, but Harden is a better scorer, passer, rebounder, and playmaker than Klay. The ridiculousness of the statement is derived from the lack of evidence. Harden does so much more than Klay, yet Barkley keeps pushing this contradicting narrative, and it just makes zero sense.
Is it possible Barkley means Harden is so good that he transcends the label of shooting guard and is the MVP because he is the best basketball player on the planet? I doubt it but you never know.
That makes no sense because in your analogy they play different positions. Barkley is basically saying: Harden is the best player at any position but Thompson is the best shooting guard. It makes absolutely no sense.
I don't care what anyone says...the Lebron that has been playing since he came back from injury is BY FAR the mvp. The guy is still the best player on the planet and it's not even close.
Yeah, but Harden plays in the West. Plus, the second best player on the Cavs playing right now is Kyrie. Third is Kevin Love. Harden has who, Josh Smith? I like JSmoove, but he isn't Kyrie.
I think most would say Lebron is the best player in the league. That doesn't mean he's the MVP. He shouldn't get a pass for the Cavs underwhelming the first 35 games of the season. He was noticeably lethargic, and he's only now performing up to expectations. Harden and Curry have been dominating from the get-go.
It makes sense because best does not equal MVP although the voters are free to define MVP any way they like. Not sayiing Barkley is right but his analogy makes sense.
He's off the rocker on many occasions. And down right using personal angst in most situations of late... He gets played $10 million+ to yap about nothing with no inept research to back anything up. That's more than most coaches.. Yet he wants $3million from Les.. I dunno what the deal was but he's full of bull to me.
