Clutch: Hey Charles, can I ask you a few questions?
    Barkley: Sure, man.

Clutch: I write for a website called Clutch City Online and a lot of fans asked about the new rules. I know it's being casually referred to as the "Barkley Rule", but we wanted to know how you think this is going to affect your game and the Rockets game this season, being that the Rockets always do a lot of post up.

Barkley: I don't think it will affect me at all to be honest with you. I think it will give me an advantage because I know exactly how quick I have to make my move.... and it only counts if you're dribbling the ball, so if you're facing up it doesn't matter so I don't think it affects me at all.

Clutch: Who do you think is the "Team to Beat" in the West this year?

Barkley: There is a lot of good teams. I don't think there are any great, great teams. San Antonio is very good. I think the Lakers obviously are going to be better. I like our chances after that.

Clutch: We have a lot of Rocket fans here in Austin and I know many wanted to know what you think of Austin so far.

Barkley: (excited) Oh it's nice man, I had never been here before. I'm having a great time. I am. I was excited to see the city and it's been...

    Clutch: Hit Sixth Street?

Barkley: Yeah, I went to Sixth Street last night. It's an interesting street. You can get in some trouble down there. (laughter).

Clutch: Great. I saw some of practice yesterday and you looked great yesterday. I appreciate you taking the time...

    Barkley: No problem man.

Charles failed to rotate...everyone knew don't give Stockton a freaking 3 point shot. Man that was turrrible.

People act like we needed Barkley to get passed the Sonics because of the sweep. We were swept with Clyde with a turned ankle and Cassell with a bad elbow.

All we needed was a decent power forward, we didn't need Barkley. You put Kevin Willis there with Cassell and Horry and we'd have been fine.

The people who hate Barkley have never seen the rockets reach the western conference finals.

    I'm pretty sure of this.

How can Barkley hate the rockets when he is seen above helping a young internet pioneer get an interview for a website dedicated to real rockets fans ?

First one to guess who this Internet pioneer is and what site he made gets props

only reason i give barkley a pass till this day is because he played hard for houston and was my favorite rocket with hakeem of course. It was horrible seeing him lying on the floor with that injury in philly. if pippen made comments against the rockets, thats a different story.

As a matter of fact tonight's post-game: After repeatedly making comments about the Rockets owing him $5 million, and later discussing how he dropped 56 on the Warriors bc he was mad that Nike made a commercial with C-Webb dunking on him, Ernie tells Chuck, "there are some things you just need to let go..."

that's right 5 million is 5 million. Les should have taken that 5 from Matt Maloney and given it to Charles.

LOL, Charles Barkley has always been one of the seediest, slimiest, sociopaths the NBA has ever harbored.

This is the same idiot who spit on a fan, threw a person through a window at a bar, called an african a spear-chucker, attempted to rip off and hoodwink both weight watchers and consumers everywhere with the most transparently ineffective "weight loss" campaign ever by wearing black clothing, etc etc etc etc etc. He's also known to be an utter gambling degenerate, p---ing away hundreds of thousands of dollars away at a time at the casinos.

And that's only what's publicly known about this most slovenly and seedy of characters.

On top of all of that, he's an embarrassingly overrated broadcaster, passing off half formed, uninformed, or just plain idiotic nonsense as brilliant and "honest" truth.

If you took a fat, country bumpkin, with an insane temper and limited intelligence and threw $50 million at him and gave him an endless amount of free time, you'd have the scum known as charles barkley.

Anything positive you can say about him would be a total fabrication.

(Other than that, he's not a bad guy). :)

People act as if Charles should be Ok with Losing 5 mil... Most of us on this board will have a heart attack if our employeer shorted us $100.00 on our paycheck and I guarantee you it would be posted all over the internet.

That guy is just hilarious. I think he finds it almost funny to mention it always and that's probably why he does it. Who knows...maybe he reads clutchfans.net and gets off on it haha. Strange peeps gonna strange.

We didn't even play and he gives the Rockets some air time...maybe Les knew what he was doing, after all he is a business man.

    Back to my paper...

I skipped most of the thread but didn't we pay him $8,000,000 in his last year, and he couldn't play when he broke his leg?

And he's still butt-sore about that?

Okay, but most of us wouldn't be dumb and throw it all gambling. That's why most of us here feel that way.
