good comments. In the league everybody is talented. It's hearts to win the games. I think it's coach JVG's comments.

Tmac didn't have faith in his teammates so that's why he jacked up all those shots in the Utah series. But you couldn't blame him. See that performance in Utah where nobody else scored.

Dream let Kenny, Vernon, Clyde, Sam, Robert Horry jack up shots in critical playoff moments.

its about believing in your teammates. HEART.

All you ever need to know about Bill Simmons:

All about a player he had never even taken the time to watch. It's one thing to be wrong; everyone is. It's another thing to make guarantees about a player you've never actually seen play. That's just lunacy. Simmons may be funny, but I wouldn't take his analysis too seriously. :)

Discussion was about teams with best chance to win a championship....

So you all are upset because our team, which has not even made it past the first round of playoffs for last couple of yeas, was not picked as one with the best chance to win a championship!??! Hell, they couldnt even do it last year with HCA and game 7 on their own homecourt. That hurts your reputation big time.

Hey, I am excited about adding Scola, James, etc. and a new coach who can actually coach offense but let's get real. They are talking about actual hardware, not paper championships.

The team needs to grow and prove it on the court.

Stop begging for respect. Earn it.

Agreed. Barkley disses our playoff chances every year and has been proven right so far.

how can you be offended if someone picks the Spurs to repeat? the defending champion is usually de facto favorite.

touche, totally agree with that. If they shut up enough about us, maybe Tmac will not be asked any questions regarding the playoffs, then maybe we can have a non-cursed playoff

Simmons main job now is to be a humorist for ESPN. He shouldn't take any of his own sports opinions seriously, and neither should we.

Barkley has no insight whatsoever. He picks whoever won last night. Since the season hasn't started, he'll pick SA. Believe me, if Houston just beat SA last night in a regular season game, he'd pick the Rockets as his 'surprise pick'.

I don't blame anyone for picking SA, but there are at least a handful of teams you should not immediately dismiss. The Rockets are one of them.

Bingo. Bill Simmons is much more of an entertainer than an analyst, and as much as I enjoy reading his articles, one would do well not to mistake his opinions for expert analysis.

Barkley's body of work speaks for itself.

(as a side note, it was so hilarious to predict tinman "foaming at the mouth", come back a few minutes later and see a reactionary response in huge 36-point formatting. heh.)

The most recent Bill Simmons goldie:

The Falcons will make the playoffs this year.

    :p

He is never ever ever right about his specific predictions. He has good anecdotes for the phenomena that occur in sports (Ewing Theory, Milton Berle Theory, etc) but can never pinpoint them happening until a couple of years after the fact. Only one person in any sport has proven to be reliable in his predictions: John Hollinger. Good thing he's on our side :).

Oh, I'll give ESPN two people. Digger Phelps is money calling the Saturday bball upsets lol. Gotta give props to him.

Well they did kiss our butt and predicted essentially uniformly that we would beat Utah.

Oh crap, that didn't work out too well.

so Chuck gets hate when he doesn't predict the Rockets to win
and he gets hate when he does pick them to win.

Like it or not, Chuck and Kenny have been right. it's you homers that have been wrong....year after year. stop begging for respect and whining that people hate the rockets, when you are constantly proven wrong every year.

Make him a believer. We gotta get out the first round, then talk about respect.
