The Jay Z thing was dirty though - they essentially brought him on board as a cult hero to talk all those peoples in Brooklyn into moving quietly so they could build a new stadium, gentrify the **** out the neighborhood, and make a HUGE profit. Eff that guy....
a person as powerful/well known as Beyoncé having a small stake in the team gives us a little bit of good publicity you're over here acting like she would have any real influence on things going on in the organization If she ends up with a tiny piece of ownership then so what?
I would prefer a carbon copy of our current owner. 1. Deep pockets. 2. Stays out of GM's way. 3. Committed to winning. 4. Keeps (some) tickets affordable for real fans. and one thing our current owner hasn't addressed... 5. Does something about the empty courtside seats....
I want Dream as "The Face of the Houston Rockets!" If this very talented chick gets a stake in the team, I wouldn't mind. Just be sure Hakeem has a larger piece of the action.
Beyonce as an owner would be a big story that would go beyond the NBA. A non-white, female owner is a big story. Who would her peers be? Some combination of Jeanie Buss and Michael Jordan? It also lends credibility and adds a kind of "wow" factor to the franchise. You don't think some players would be tempted to join the Rockets just for the chance to rub shoulders with Beyonce on occasion? Instead of a boring old white businessman with questionable motives, this could be a great move.
You my friend just got punked by a Clutchfans inside joke. I bet you really enjoy the Toyota Center experience.
Would she perform at halftime? I mean I would miss the jugglers and all, but Beyoncé would be an upgrade.
Man imagine if Bey took the RPD and halftime choreography under her wing. 6 to midnight just thinking about it.
Too much crying in here. Like she would be making gm decisions. If she wants to buy a stake she should be able too.
https://www.bathroomreader.com/2014/05/sports-teams-co-owned-by-famous-people/ Businessman Stephen Ross owns 95 percent of the Miami Dolphins, but the other 5 percent—amounting to tens of millions in worth—is split between a number of famous people. Jennifer Lopez owns part of the Dolphins, as does her ex-husband, singer Marc Anthony, as well as Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson of the Black Eyed Peas, Gloria Estefan, and tennis players Serena and Venus Williams. fwiw: JayZ only owned 1/15th of 1% of the Nets.
JayZ is giving LeBron that "***** I know you ain't trying to holla right in front of me" look. LMAO And B is so smooth with the non eye contact but polite brushing off of the King. LOVE IT!
