It's our last year in high school, and his birthday is two weeks away..I want to get him something really meaningful for his b-day..which I will make the gift by myself if I can..(Most importantly, the gift can not be $20 and above...otherwise I can not afford it)

Oh, he love to play tennis and badminton, and watch animes(bleach, naruto..etc.)

I brought him a friendship ring last year..In return, he brought a ring for my birthday too...I thought you guys would think this is AWKWARD?

    JFYI,
Though we don't have much common interest besides we are both asian..he was always there for me in the past three years..he might as well be the reason that I'm still alive...I felt no one cares about me besides him..my famliy is a disaster..so I'm not gonna talk about it..

(For the sensitive ppl, we both got a girl in our hearts..we are NOT homosexual...jeez..)

We are going separate ways after high school too..should I just get him a random gift now..and get him a better and more meaningful gift after graduation?

Thanks for reading this thread, any advice would be appreciated. :)
    Sorry for any grammar/spelling errors...

Well, see... we can't tell you what your best friend wants because we don't know him. Better to leave gift-giving to yourself unless you just want to give him a random generic gift.

    In that case, I recommend:

I'm sorry, but this does feel a little gay. Best way to pull this off would be to get him a bottle of nice scotch.

I understand you're still in high school, but only <$20 for someone you obviously care for and may not even see for a while? Come on man!

    Exactly....

But back to the question, I don't think you necessarily have to buy/make anything if this is your best bud. It's always nice to get a gift, but on my birthday, my best friends just come over to hang out. We drink, watch sports, play basketball and hang out. Sometimes the wives come and bring the kids.

It's just that time that matters, in my opinion.

I feel like I just wrote a Hallmark card.

    Farewell.
