If i had my choice, it would be thorpe. He runs well, not a trouble maker and will be a good role player. If nothing else we could give the minutes to griffin, which i hope happens

OT is old, but he is better than Thomas or Cato. However, I thought that he can have a bad attitude at times. I may be wrong, though, about this.

Givin those choices. I would pass.

Mason is the only decent player in that list these days and he will likely go for the 4.5 million dollar exception.

The pickin's are really slim at this point.

Actually if you look at Thorpe's numbers they are horrible, worse then Cato's and far and away worse then Kenny Thomas'. I definitely would want Mason, and I wouldn't mind getting Chris Gatling.

We can use this to purchase a player can't we? Can it be used to offset dollar amounts in a trade? i.e. exception + player (Walt?) == player?

Yes, the only way any of us will be happy from acquiring a big man will be with a trade. I guess this brings us back to that Jahidi White debate.......

while i agree that there isnt much of a choice, i do think that Polynice would help us because hes a 7 footer who can throw his muscle around come game time (albeit not many minutes with his age) Seriously, hes a defender who can at least get a hand up in someones face and isnt scared to rebound. He wont kill us by allowing the opponent to constantly crash the boards and steal the offensive rebound from us. I agree that his better days are behind him and that hes an awful free-throw shooter, but hes a veteran who knows how to throw his elbows and show some presence down low.

I'd rather trade for someone like Brian Skinner.

Gatling...without question. He can play the 4 or 5 and has proven in the past that he can go out on a nightly basis and give a solid effort. He is usually better when coming off the bench (which im guessing would be the case if he came) and he has the ability to score and rebound. PLus, Im sure he would take a 1 or 2 year deal.

If Mason will agree then sign him. NO BRAINER!!! If not Mase, then get Gatling. We can't just pass up on the exception.

    For he who might know...

Once you get the exception you only have a certain # of days to use. Correct? If so, how much time do we have left to use? What if we make an offer and the team takes the full 15 days to make a decision, what would happen if the Rox were still waiting on a team to decide when our time expired on the exception?

    Thanks.

It's looking more and more like the PIG is going to get a call from CD in the next few weeks.
