I just need Rivers to stop taking 3s of the dribble. Bro, stick to spot up 3s. Plays hard and hustles on defense, and is one of the few who can penetrate on an iso and finish
I’ve said this in another thread, this guy’s demeanor and swag was what we are missing. He fits this team in so many ways.
Jeremy Lin might be book smart but when it comes to basketball, he's the dumbest player ive ever seen. Thank god he's not on our team anymore.
I feel like he has the foil attitude many casual fans think the rockets have. Not that I care as long as he backs up his talk
Austin rivers 3 points are very good. He is good replacement for Ariza and prince. He can hit big shoot. If houston have him last year, Houston will get championship. The only concern is the power of worriers with cousins
I was hoping Jeremy Lin got bought out by the Feb 15 deadline this season so that we could get him for the min. But Austin Rivers is doing everything I hoped Lin would do, for the same price. So Lin is not really needed (though I'd still take him for the min). I've been watching him since Harden & Lin first came to the team together (check my join date & handle). Mostly I'm watching him now because I'm trying to answer the question, "Do nice guys really finish last?". We'll see. Since this is a semi-serious thread (unlike most Lin threads on this board) I think it'd be worth throwing out a few observations: - Every Lin thread on this board has someone post a vid of that horrible turnover in that Portland series (sometimes it's posted multiple times). Yes, Lin has that ridiculous Wile E. Coyote vibe to his turnovers that make them feel like 10 turnovers but you need to remind yourself that is just one TO. Mostly his mistakes have the chicken-with-the-head-cut-off quality to them because he's a little too earnest and trying a little too hard. That was years ago, people do evolve. - Since his Hornet days, his defense has been pretty good. I'd say he's about good as Gordon. - He doesn't need the ball in his hands, currently Trae Young runs the offense and Lin is mostly a spot up shooter, and shooting at high efficiency. - In the WCF against the Warriors we got down to a 7 man rotation, with Gordon @ 6, and Green @ 7. I thought he could take spot #7 ahead of Green. That would give us a little more depth in crunch time. Currently Rivers is taking that spot and doing well. - He's not worth his contract to us to be a 7th or 8th man, but I'd trade Knight for him in a heartbeat. He's only worth it if we can get him for the min. - I still like (an inexpensive) Lin, but Austin Rivers has more dog in him. Lin always needed that.
Why are people arguing? Jeremy and Austin are friends. Jeremy's uncle Anthony Lin coaches Austin's dad Philip Rivers on the Chargers, and they are beating the Ravens today.
