http://www.cbssports.com/collegebas...ources-austin-rivers-leaving-duke-for-the-nba The 6-foot-3 freshman will sign with an agent and forgo his remaining eligibly, multiple sources told CBSSports.com I didn't know he was that short. I was guessing 6'5.
Draftexpress has his official measurements at 6'5 (w/shoes) with a 6'7 wingspan, fairly decent for a SG.
I had hopes that he could possibly stay and work on his PG skills. Oh well. He shoots too much for a PG, always looking to get his own shot. He drives to the basket very well, but seems to force the finish. If he can learn to kick it out to open shooters, watch out.
really bad decision. He didn't need the money, he goes to a top school, he plays for an amazing coach, and he is not predicted to be a lotto pick. I guess kids gotta make their own mistakes. a real head-scratcher. But look on the bright side, it might push someone better back a draft spot.
Minus the quickness, shooting prowess, and overall athletic ability? Sure. This is a *terrible* decision. He was a pretty important player on a below-par Duke squad.
Rivers has alot of untapped potential and because of this I wish he stayed a couple more years at Duke but I really feel like he can become a star in this league. He can shoot the ball from deep, can get to the basket at will and he's not afraid of the big moment. Needs to work on passing and decision-making. Look out for this kid though!
