Isn't it great that the Rockets happen to have the first pick the year before "the future" aka LeBron James is coming out, and one of the biggest risk or reward players ever is considered the likely number 1. Why can't LeBron just decide to trade prom and graduation for paychecks and girls NOW! There's no point for him to stick around and toy local Ohio homegrowns. Does anyone know if there is any chance he could still come out this year? It would seem to be to his advantage. He would obviously be the Rockets pick and at 6'7" we could put him at SF. Wouldn't he rather play on a Rocket team with Franchise and Griffin than next year on a Denver or Atlanta? So LeBron, if this message gets to you, enter the draft this year! Do whatever must be done, fight the courts, call David Stern ugly, and hire Dennis Rodman as your personal spokesman. Have your voice heard kid, the time is now!
High school players can't declare until their class graduates, so no he can't declare. Also, even if he were eligible, the deadline for declaring has already passed.
he's only a junior in high school and is only 17 years old. in the league you have to be 18, but he has lawyers trying to fight for him, but by the time it passes, he will already graduated.
I remember when the Lakers made another rip off trade and got the #1 pick the year before Ralph "the Franchise" Sampson was to come out. They had to settle for James Worthy instead. Yeah Sampson couldve been great had his knees held up. However, Worthy was just unstoppable down low and a hall of famer. You should always be careful what you want in Sports, especially when it comes down to an inexact science like the draft.
