Well, point remains the same. Attendance this year is gonna suck some righteous balls. The fact the Miami game didn't sell out only adds to that theory.

yep..no argument there. does not help that they can't drive demand by showing the product on TV in most Houston homes or advertise ticket packages that way either.

They also jacked up the prices for the heat game. Like selling 10 dollar tickets for 40. The Rockets organization must realize there isn't much demand for the product. Pissing of all their fans is just dumb.

    Um, they sold 18,041/18,043 seats.

For all we know they were in the nosebleeds on opposite sides of the Arena.

That's a sellout for all intensive purposes.

Another reason for lack of attendance as compared to Boston and New York, maybe even Chicago, is Houston is a city spread out over an area the size of the state of Rhode Island. Many of those who can afford tickets, live 30 to 40 miles out in the suburbs. Plus Houston has been built around the personal automobile. No mass transit exists to easily skate on into the city for a game and quickly go back home. So if you work in The Woodlands and your wife (or buddy) works in the Galleria area, that's two cars that have to sit in traffic and find a parking space, etc. If you could just hop on a subway or train it would be easier I think.

I've often wondered if it would have made more sense to build Toyota Center out in West Houston, closer to a population base that could afford to attend games.
