http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/topstory/3391498 Coming ... maybe to Houston: Sign up for World Series lottery Tickets for this week's NLCS Games 3, 4, 5 sold out Copyright 2005 Houston Chronicle It's still an if, maybe a when, for the Astros. Astros fans can secure a place in the lottery for individual tickets to a potential World Series at Minute Maid Park by registering online at www.astros.com, starting at noon tomorrow through 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 14. On Saturday, Oct. 15, a random drawing will be held among all fans who have registered online. Those selected in the random drawing will be notified via e-mail on Sunday, Oct. 16. The e-mail will provide winners with instructions on how to purchase tickets to Astros World Series games online on Monday, Oct. 17, between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. CT. “We wanted all fans to have an equal opportunity to purchase tickets to the Astros first-ever World Series,” said Bill Goren, Astros director of ticket sales. “We used a similar program when we made individual game tickets available for fans to buy during last year’s World Series ticket on-sale and the 2004 All-Star Game.” There is a four-ticket purchase limit for each winner selected in the random drawing, subject to availability. Ticket prices for the World Series, set by Major League Baseball, are $125-$185 per seat and $45 for standing room only. If the Astros reach the World Series, the team would host games on: • Tuesday, Oct. 25 (Game 3). • Wednesday, Oct. 26 (Game 4). • Thursday, Oct. 27 (Game 5, if necessary). All dates and times are subject to change by Major League Baseball. For more information, log on to www.astros.com or call (800) ASTROS-2 (800-278-7672). Meanwhile, tickets are sold out for this week's NLCS Games 3, 4, and 5 (if necessary), scheduled to be hosted by the Astros at Minute Maid Park.
MLB had something similar last year and my buddy in Dallas bought some, but as we know, we didn't quite make it. When they had the Allstar game here I got the chance to buy them through the lottery. Pretty sweet deal. I'm headed to Denmark tomorrow but hopefully I'll be able to sign up before I get on a plane.
yeah, last year was sucked cause i actually had the chance to buy them and then they went and blew it. heres hoping we pull through this time
Signed up on three different emails - hope I get it. Any chance we could make this thread sticky so everyone can sign up??? GO ASTROS!!!
I would have had great seats last year...3rd baseline, 15th row. Hopefully we can make some amends this year.
I tried to set my password as: "mywifeishotandshe'llgiveyouablowjobifigettickets" but it was too many letters so i changed it to: "blowjob4sale" i hope it helps me win tickets. GO ASTROS!!!!
*in the ticket office* Guy in charge: Mmm... man meat. *writes down address* Good luck with that. Perhaps you should have mentioned your wife somehow in the revised password. Lest you be accosted by those of an alternate sexual persuasion. Which would be pretty funny. And be honest. If it could get you tickets to all three games, you'd do it.
I registered for tickets on Astros.com and I will also be trying like hell on Friday morning at 10AM to buy tickets from the Angels since I live in SoCal and I would love to wear my Stros jersey into the Angels stadium for game 6 when we WIN the series!
Is this only good for Astros World Series Tickets? Could I try winning them off of the STL. site in case they go instead? Cause I mean, if they beat us, I wouldnt mind sticking it to some STL fans on the re-sell market. EDIT: I just checked all the LCS team sites and the Astros are the only one with a WS ticket lottery. Another reason to be proud of our team. I did try to win Game 2 tickets to the NLCS, no telling what I will do if I win.
The way my life has been going these days. I have a feeling I may get an email telling me that i can buy some World Series Tickets. BUT, I have exactly $3.02 left in my bank account.
Anyone receive a response or know when we should get one? Also, if we are not selected, will we get a negative response?
with my luck - I've won (the right to buy) tickets and my company's spam filter is blocking the e-mail.
