Not shocking. Astros are cautious with deals. Hell we were lucky Verlander was available at the second deadline after passing on him the first time. Just have to trust Luhnow.
Yankees scratching prospects so a deal must be close. Oh well. Realmuto or Iglesias would be impact trades that still could happen, although unlikely.
Well... if Yankees get him, man will they have an amazing bullpen. Guess we have to win with what we got.
Let’s see what the Yankees give up, Luhnow can hold on to his prospects too tightly (Verlander) but he drafted and signed them.
Britton could recapture some of that magic from a few years ago, but more likely he’ll be good but not elite by any means. It would be nice to have him but I’m not going to be that upset about it.
The way the Astros pursued Britton makes me believe he is gonna be awesome or at least the Astros thought he would be awesome. All you can do is offer what you are willing to lose. Let the chips fall. Have a feeling the Yankees weren’t gonna let the Astros beat them again after Verlander and Cole. Astros needed him, would have made us better.
Herrera and Familia were gotten for a song. Hand got a legit top prospect. We'll see on Britton. Kind of annoyed that Luhnow couldn't get in on Herrera or Familia.
This is interesting. Astros could have beaten that package pretty easily and it makes me think that there is something else in the works... just don't know who it could be.
Only a year of team control left and they are rebuilding. Makes sense to trade him either at the deadline or this Winter.
