We have exactly what the Reds want, Forrest Whitley. And we have exactly the answer they DON'T want.... Hell no! I think the Marlins would like to unload Castro's contract, but I don't think we can take it. And where do we play him, too? Ziegler's is not as big and ends after this year so I'd be okay with eating some of it and taking a chance to see what we get.
I don’t think Iglesias is as good as Hand. They both have the same amount of team control. It would likely take several of the Astros better arms outside of Whitley. The player the Indians gave up has been tarnished in baseball circles. He isn’t as well thought of even 6 months ago. Also, I wouldn’t count on the Astros exercising their 5.5-8.0 million dollar extension on Harris. The Astros have finance issues and a number of arms ready to take on a larger role.
it's 2018 and there's actually people who want Familia yeah you don't watch Mets games at all, or probably remember Familia pre-WS blow up
FWIW https://fancredsports.com/articles/inside-baseball-mlb-notes-both-sides-could-win-i — The Astros could use a back-end reliever, executives say, but to this point they have not been heavily involved with Zach Britton, the closer they traded for last year. Perhaps that’s because the Orioles backed out last year, and they don’t want to go through it again with them. Or perhaps it’s because they believe manager A.J. Hinch will figure it out, as he did last year … — If they are relying on Hinch again, perhaps they should give him an extension. The team holds an option on him for next year, and hasn’t even picked that up … — Nick Cafardo of The Boston Globe suggested Raisel Iglesias could be a fit … — The team hasn’t been “hot and heavy” on any reliever yet. But there are still two weeks to go, and that’s their obvious need, especially with Ken Giles in the minors … — They are using rookie Kyle Tucker in left field, but once Carlos Correa returns, Marwin Gonzalez will get some time there. Some see Tucker (below Forrest Whitley and Yordan Alvarez on their prospect list) as potential trade bait … — Charlie Morton isn’t after every last dollar as a free agent. “My focus as a free agent would be to end up somewhere I fit in, somewhere there’s good chemistry. Right now I’m feeling that here.” There’d been some speculation early that Morton – obviously not a money-first guy – might just walk away after the season. But he only said, “I won’t be playing another four, five, six years.” …
I know he's coming off an injury but Britton isn't exactly mowing guys down since he's been back. I'd hate to see us trade away any prospects of significance for him. 3.68 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, 9 walks in 14.2 IP. Yikes.
He has pitched in 15 games and given up runs in two of them and has given up 0 runs in his last 7 games. 4-5 in save opportunities (4 in a row). In the same time span got a win while pitching a scoreless 9th in a tie game.
Everyone with ants in the pants for Realmuto, read this article. Actually, just everyone read this article. https://es.pn/2LkzYqW
Well you want people to care about what you write, and you want us to pick up Castro and his 11 million dollars next year so . . . . .
Ah, gotcha, I've been largely ignoring the 781 different Realmuto trade posts. I don't like that idea.
According to Fangraphs, Houston has 5 of the top 50 trade chips in the league: 5. Correa 7. Bregman 27. Springer 36. Altuve 50. Tucker McCullers and Whitley also got honorable mentions.
