To me Realmuto is the only target to get excited about. Britton is a boom or bust guy. Iglasias would be a good add but idk if we could nab him seems like he wants to stay in Cincy. Familia wouldn't be bad. What about Stroman from the Jay's and move McCullers to the pen? Maybe something like that

Yes the Stroman idea is awesome!

He is an absolute stud and Lance would love to be moved to closer full time. Heck that may help us sign him long term. Not sure why no one else thought of this! Awesome idea

Alvarez, Bukauskas, Paulino and Straw for Stroman! Move Lance to the pen and offer him 50 million for 5 year extension. Problems solved, multi year Champions

    Awesome

With the way Stroman has pitched this year, that's more of a step back

    Edit: oops double reply lol

On second thought, wouldn’t your boy Straily be better than Stroman?

Gotta wonder if the Cardinals will finally be sellers at the deadline..one game above .500. Matt Carpenter has been ripping the cover off of the ball & Bud Norris has pitched very well. May be time for the Cards to make some moves

Britton fan here but I'm really liking Realmuto+Conley, and I'll take that as our only move. Keep Rondon as closer for the rest of the regular season (probably), then make Lance the postseason closer. Maybe go after a closer in free agency this offseason, or solve it internally if Rondon doesn't work out too well. Iglesias is so overrated, his high HR rate is very concerning. If I'm the GM I don't even ask about him.

Just heard on MLB Tonight: Britton is #1 on our trade target list. The reporter said he has some doubts that Iglesias will even be moved.

After the orioles backed out of a deal with us for Britton before, I can only imagine how these negotiations would go.

I don't think we have what the Reds want anyway. We aren't giving up Whitley or Tucker. Some scouts are now saying Alvarez is only a 1b/dh down the road. They have Joey Votto...

We have exactly what the Reds want... pitching.

Also the Astros aren’t trading a top 30-40 prospect like Alvarez for Iglesias.

The Red Sox and Yankees both are looking to add to their bullpen but are only targeting top bullpen options.

The Astros May have to pay a high price for the top guys available.

Considering what the price was for Hand, what prospects would you think could land Iglesias?

This is why its would be easier to just go for Conley and Realmuto and be done with it. We could even take Castro off there hands and Ziegler if they just wanna throw salary off. Jesus just get a deal done . Pretty sure we could use Castros bat and Ziegler could be traded off just as fast
