Weird. I thought they already agreed to terms & was going to sign tomorrow. (Tomorrow being 2-3-4-5 days ago).
I think Beltran upgrades all of our offensive weapons. Correa can relax and stop trying to do so much at the plate now.
My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Encarnacion at 31 Flavors in the Galleria last night. So I guess it's pretty serious.
Supposedly this doesn't mean we are out of the bidding for Encarnacion. I don't buy it though unless their is a trade. My guess is EE wants to go to Bos/NY or crawl back to Tor.
Marisnick will be a 5OF/defensive replacement. CF Springer 3B Bregman 2B Altuve DH Beltran SS Correa C McCann LF Gurriel RF Reddick 1B Gattis
Well he should definitely have more protection. I can see more production from Correa coming. I'm pretty excited by this signing and my gut tells me EE is still a possibility.
Thanks for calling me stupid, I won't ask to compare our levels of education.... As for me, he is a member of the Astros again, so yea i'll root for him to do well, nothing could make me root against the Astros. Not the deal I wanted though. He was really good last year, but that followed a mediocre 2015 and a poor 2014, so at 39 years old here is hoping he can be more like the 2016 version than the others. One year deal so it doesn't impact us long term, just hope the $30 we have given to Beltran and Morton pays off, and it doesn't keep us from making another deal for a guy like EE I would assume Beltran will do like last year and play about half of his games in the OF and half at DH? Hope EE is still a possibility, but he is so bad in the field wonder how that would all play out
There's a reason why, despite the offensive black hole that was 1B last season, Gattis played exactly zero innings there.
No, not with the level of interest he drew. Supposedly he could have had a two year deal from teams but wanted only 1 year.
We had an overload of 1B that we were trying to sort out last year. Of course, all of them failed, and then Gattis became the regular C when Castro went down. There was a plan to play him at 1B in ST, but he got injured. To me it depends on whether Beltran receives the most starts at LF or DH. If LF, Gattis will DH plenty. If DH, I see Gattis in LF (not the prettiest thing) more often than Aoki. We will probably use a revolving door at LF/DH/1B again this year.
