    Worse than the WNBA. Wow.

A city of over 7 million people, and they get a crowd that's usually at Whole Foods on a Sunday afternoon. Hilarious.

The 915 definitely does NOT have more to do with their record.

Viewership would obviously have been low as hell regardless, but as far as record-breaking - that's still unavailability-aided.

So, if they were playing good, .500 baseball, they would have still set an all time low?

Relative to teams playing .500 baseball, probably so.

    Of course not.

If they were playing as poorly as they are now, and 80% more of the city had the capability of watching them on tv, would they have still set an all time low?

I think you take any record you can get with this payroll.

I have no idea, but I still hold firm that they set the all time low more so with how they were/are playing than as to how many people can see the games.

FSN doesn't even reach 80% of the city. This isn't as if they were on local tv.

They had a similar low last year when they were on FSN. Wasn't below 1,000... but was very similar to the WNBA numbers.

It has more to do with how bad they are.

it isn't "more so" because of how they are playing if you don't think that it would have still been set if everybody was able to view it, but, whatever. this is a pointless argument.

The previous record was 1092 households, last September. Being the worst team in baseball for the 3rd consecutive season is the biggest reason why we set the record, as evidenced by a record being set just last year as well.

There is a good chance we'd be setting the record either way. Of course if we were winning, we'd have better ratings and more likely to get a deal in place.

At least with the wnba, you don't know for sure what the outcome will be. With the Astros, you know who's going to lose.

Should the Astros be worried about a possible relocation? A San Antonio move would be beneficial to management monetary wise. It is sad that they are this bad. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel with them, but the casual fan may not.

    Nope...MMP is a lucrative park and there's a 40 year lease signed in 2000.

This market supports major league baseball. The product for the last 3 years has been a minor league product in a major league city.

The corporate base in San Antonio isn't close to Houston's. The built in demand for season tickets for a reasonable product when playing games in the central business district of a huge corporate market like Houston is way too much to walk away from for a city like San Antonio or Portland.
