Astros look like a bunch players that got paid, and are content.

To say these guys look "content" is a huge clue that you haven't watched a second of these games.

They are under-performing and their situational hitting is approaching 0-27 levels of absurdness, sure, but they are also obviously frustrated and the tension was pretty apparent last night. They suck at the moment, but it's not because they are coasting.

 

So far, little has gone as predicted. The Angels were supposed to be the 2nd best team and they are 1-5. No one seems to fear the 7-1 Mariners, but watch out if they get some pitching. Last year was probably an aberration for the A's, but who knows?

Don't you usually start threads declaring that a Houston team will choke when they have a lead or they are in 1st place? Whether a Houston team is in 1st place or last place, winning or losing; you're not very happy. I'll be looking for your choke thread when the Astros are in 1st place in August but have a losing road trip.

 

I'd rather not lose a single game to the Rangers, but Astros are fine.

 

Let's give them a couple more weeks so they can figure things out. I would rather they get their bad streak out of the way early than have it in the part of the season where it really matters. On a more positive note Correa seems to be seeing the ball and driving the ball a lot better. If he can continue this and work on his launch angle a little it may be time to move him back to third or fourth in the order..
