What do you guys think? He's been effective for Atlanta when healthy, but can he stay healthy?

I'd venture to say ANYONE, absolutely ANYONE is an upgrade over Backe. If we can sign him to a relatively cheap deal, the guy's made his money afterall, I say it's worth looking into.

i'd take him on a short, relatively cheap deal with games-started incentives..

I'm fine with Garland, but Lowe would be Woody Williams pt. 2 in Minute Maid.

    Ben Sheet and Mike Hampton.

Hampton in an incentive laden deal.

    Oswalt
    Sheet
    Hampton
    Wandy
    Wolf or Moehler

    I like this rotation.

I just can't wait to get another guy in the rotation with an ERA approaching 5.

Lowe is known as a groundball pitcher, so I don't see how he'd be compared to Woody.

I think it was one of the reasons he gave.

Of course, the rumor I always heard about Hampton leaving was that either he had slept with Biggio's wife, or Biggio had slept with Hampton's wife and each wanted the other gone. Of course Biggio won that battle. Could very well be total bull**** but I always thought it was interesting.

    I always thought it was Bagwell's ex-wife.

He's a diminishing old guy who's had his statistics skewed by pitching in a great pitcher's park.

I think it had more to do with Drayton not wanting to shell out for a contract that his 22-4 2.90 ERA season commanded.

Sheets would be nice...but of course Sabathia would be great (WAY out of our price range after what he's done in Milwaukee)

    It was Bagwell's ex-wife.

Now she is spending her time with Travis Knight, the former basketball player.
