Honestly, if we sign Fowler, I hope the Astros push Springer to 6+ in the line-up. I'd go Fowler, Bregman, Correa, Altuve, Gurriel (DH), Springer, Gattis, Reed, Marisnick.

Total guess but I'm gonna go $70M/4yrs for Fowler and $115M/4yrs for Encarnacion.

Fowler's in a pretty good situation. I can name at least 2 other teams that would be interested in him (Cardinals and Mets). He will definitely get overpaid to some degree which is a given based on what he's done the last couple of seasons. I know you guys had him pre-2015, but he has improved his defense since them IMO. He's not the fastest CF out there, but he can play that position really well. Also a great lead off guy as everyone knows with that OBP. It would be a solid signing if the Astros did get him. I just think whoever does sign him is probably going to write a big check because he's looking to cash in after taking a chance on himself this past year.

He's a platoon hitter who lost a lot of speed last season, but maybe he finds a resurgence at MMP. One thing I like about the move is Aoki has played in San Francisco and Seattle, both of which are very poor hitters' parks, which deflates his stats a little.

Why did the guy get waived. A 350 obp guy seems like a good guy to have in your lineup.

Not good enough to be a starting LFer and too expensive to be a backup for most teams.

This move makes a ton of sense. Have him as part of a LF platoon playing against RHPs. He's a great fit in the 9 hole.
