Great. Now it has its own thread so the discussion doesn't get lost.

This is a decent add. I’m not gonna freak out like others and say it’s 1.78364 million too much because his xqr war says he shouldn’t have got that much

It’s Cranes money, Neris is a solid reliever. Glad we added him

Fantastic that he did. I'm not here trying to scoop anyone. I don't get scooping points on this board.

    Yep,

I watched Neris with the Phillies and was unimpressed. Reeks of another Baez boo boo. Looks like Click will be making more trades to fortify the bullpen at the deadline. If Click was going to spend this kind of money on a reliever, he should have just re-signed Graveman.

Now Click's tapped out in his pursuit of a CF. Gonna have to move Odorizzi and more salary if he wants to make a major move to shore up the lineup.

This move pretty much assures that Correa is gone.

Neris was experimenting with a slider last season. He needs to get with McCullers and learn the McHugh/Peacock sweeping slider. Add that to his arsenal and he could be very good.

I don't think it at all assures Correa is gone but I agree with the rest

LOL at the notion that Neris is prohibitive of Correa returning

Crane has shown that he is willing to spend into the LT as long as he wasn't paying the repeater tax. They stayed under the tax threshold this year which means he can go over for the next two years. That is when Verlander and Neris goes off the books. Baez also comes off the books after this coming season.

He went over the tax ONE time, and actually he never paid the tax because it was the 2020 season and MLB didn't make teams pay the tax because of the pandemic.

Well I’m giving you 3 scoop points for making the thread. Not sure how I came to that number, but you deserve it anyway.

This dude had a 3.63 ERA last year and a 4.57 ERA in 2020. WTF. Why not just resign Yimi Garcia for cheaper?

Because you don’t sign players for their past ERA’s. You sign them for the performance you expect in the future.

Can't the Astros sign cheaper projects? Would rather put this money towards the Correa fund.
