News form GA. Looks like the vast majority of customers are still stay away. Unless you can convince customers to feel safe coming back, government permission to reopen will still not result in viability.

I am getting a very worried that Trump has really destroyed the foundation of this country causing the majority to feel like they have represent their "team" at all cost.

Pro Trump: Let me find anything to point too so that what Trump is saying makes sense. (Sweden)

Anti Trump: Let me find anything to point out how bad Trump is doing. (deaths corona vs deaths during vietnam)

I am tired of people using **** to make a point when they don't know anything other than their "teams" talking points.

The impact of the Trump presidency will be felt far into the future.

The country that has done the most testing per capita in the world is Iceland, inherently a small sample size, but still worthy to note.

Their current death rate is roughly 0.0055, or half a percent. Now, if we add-in that maybe there is a certain % that have gone untested/asymptomatic, their death rate would likely be under half a percent.

One has to keep in mind, considerably healthier people than in America, a much better healthcare system with 100% accessibility of high-quality care to all citizens. So likely, our death rate wouldn't be quite as low.

But if we assume our death rate is in the same ballpark, given we currently have 67k dead and counting, potentially over 7% of the country has been infected, with one's odds of either having (or had) this virus at 1 in 23 - or higher.

If my junk bro math is anywhere close to the truth, this **** is absolutely rampant and all we can do is hope that - outside of the tragic deaths, that there isn't a high rate of any type of longterm harm caused to our organs.

Our count has gone up 3 days straight, with over 1,000 cases a day. I think our Governor eased restrictions too soon. I'd say in 3 or 4 weeks we will know if this push to reopen so soon was a big mistake or not.

We will see. I think we will see a lot of people returning to restaurants and traveling.

Something to think about. We can't get too risky, because our Governor has lifted restrictions so quickly, even with testing far too little to even know the truth of the situation.

    Germany (Pop 83.78 mil)
New Coronavirus cases the past 3 days (3,428)
    Total Cases March 23 (29,056) Today (164,967)
    Testing 30,400 per million

    Texas (Pop 29.9 mil)
New Coronavirus cases the past 3 days (3,371)
    Today's total (31,142)
    Testing 13,651 per million

    France (Pop 65.27 mil)
New Coronavirus cases the past 3 days (1,976)
    Total cases March 26 (29,155) Today (168,396)
    Testing 16,856 per million

A problem we're seeing is that these rises include a wide of mix of states. Some, like Iowa, have been slow or taken limited action. But others like Virginia have been really aggressive (their stay-at-home order goes into June). That makes it hard to figure out what's really helping and what's not.

There's no evidence that we're in a materially better place than when the lockdown started other than in places that have been brutalized like NYC.

But, we're reopening because the President is an idiot and a narcissist.

Absolutely right, because lockdown is ineffective, delays herd immunity, weakens our immune systems, financially ruins families, strips people of their civil liberties, and prolongs the suffering.

When do we determine if half-ass closing was a big mistake or not?

When we see that half ass opening in the middle of fighting this virus, with a continued big increase in cases, and an astronomical increase in deaths was a mistake, is a mistake. The problem with that is it will be too late. All the sacrificing, the incredible work done by our healthcare workers, the weeks spent in isolation to "flatten the curve" of the virus, and hopefully put it on a downward trend with be tossed away. All thanks to some incredibly stupid GOP governors, including Abbott, and the fool in the White House, who doesn't care about science, doesn't care about anything but himself and his reelection, at any cost. That cost is going to be astronomical.

We don't need any talking points. All we really need is to listen to Trump speak. From that simple activity we can determine that he is mentally unfit to be President as many of us have been saying for years and is one of the biggest lying, ignorant assholes in history. Every day he ups the ante on impeachable behavior. It's gotten so ridiculous and bizarre that we're beginning to have no choice but to tune out the most powerful political office in the world in the middle of a pandemic. It's absolutely insane.
