Burden of proof is on you. I went to your link and found nothing more than a comment in a tweet from Lina Hidalgo. Nevermind the sample size was only the TMC (very small) and not for a long time period. Show data from some of the regions of the US and world that have been open for a while.
Nah I have no burden of proof bc I didn't make any assertions, unlike you. Where's your proof that restrictions caused more deaths? I look forward to reviewing your findings. But your next reply will definitely not include any.
you have to wonder if they’ll have Arizona type upswing but with much spread, primarily to and from SoCal.
From a Program Manager at DSHS working the COVID-19 Taskforce: They're not allowed to give some of this info freely because it does not support our governor's goal to buttsuck the dipshit.
At this point it doesn't seem like anyone cares about covid anymore. I don't really even see what the point of the shutdown was. If they had a real shutdown like china maybe it would have worked, but so many people were moving around it still spread a lot.
meh, at worst, it was worth it: - Medical profession knows more now about triage, treatment, and disease course - in general, hospitals better equipped to handle cases than they were in Feb - several promising existing drug treatments are already being deployed - tons of people have changed their behavior in important ways (not everybody of course)
You think these benefits you listed were worth the extreme costs the country endured? Do you think the unemployed would agree with you? It sounds like you personally weren't impacted, if you claim that the costs were only "meh".
Saw this. Couldn't confirm if it was authentic. But it illustrates a real issue. Neither of these 2 topics IMO should be partisan issues. But here we are. Now normal good 99'ers like me & Tinman are posting in the ****ing D&D because of it. See what yall did to us, man?
maybe china type shutdown for a 2 week period followed by prudent social distancing and other pretty-easy policy for all to follow (except great freedom fighters) is the better approach.. i'm sure someone will study all of these and come up with some data (that will also be used to echo political beliefs) but yea, in the US, we essential gave up and are now hoping for the best.. may luck be with us
It doesn't look like many people have changed their behavior. I went to restaurant this weekend. Inside the tables were spaced and it had lower occupancy. People waiting outside in the patio were right next to each other with no masks, and there were a lot of them.
right, not all people. Where I live, the change is more fundamental and pervasive. Even that variety is better than where we were before, and the other points still stand. but I sympathize, and I share your frustration. Virus don’t play.
