As currently constructed: are Rockets championship contenders?

Contenders? Yes, but I still think they are a season or even two away from actually winning it. They need a bit more tweaking or simply time to gell.

This team needs some real luck to pass the first round.

 

I will repeat until I'm blue in the face: we need a starting pg. Without one, playoff teams will double and trap Harden and our offense will bog down to contested 3s.

 

Pretty amazing one of the worst offensive teams in the league can drop 120 in regulation against one of the best defensive teams in the league.

Beverley was straight up atrocious all night long.

 

sure you want to get Harden the ball, but what kind of offense just stops completely and throws dangerous passes 5 ft behind the player as everyone watches? No discipline in this team.

 

Moreso, they need a gameplan. They are too easy to stop.

 

We might be championship contending in terms of talent but our offensive philosophy is completely wrong.

 

Beverly is not a NBA point guard, and McHale is the worst coach in the league. Another horrible game. I'm done with this team.

 

The Magic game tonight was a prime example of this, smh.

 

Even with all the vets we acquired, we're not disciplined enough because our stars aren't disciplined enough. 7 turnovers alone for Harden kills us.

 

Why do so many people assume we are championship contenders when our best player isn't even playoffs proven?

Don't get me wrong, he is MVP as of now but nothing is a given considering what happened against Portland last year.

 

Harden's having to do too much because he's not playing with any real point guard. Harden is this team's saving grace this year but he's not good enough to get this team over the hump in the West without someone else who is a legit point guard/stable play-maker.

 

Ha ha ha ha... The "yes" is down over 4% since the Orlando game.

Are you serious? The weaknesses of this team has nothing to do with today's or tomorrow's games.

A flawed starting lineup is flawed until the Rockets address the issues.

 

nothing really. The type of weaknesses we are talking about become holes in the ship when the playoffs start. We already saw it last year, but chances are the results will repeat. I'm still happy that we get to see a Rockets player play like the MVP though.

 

You know what, I wouldn't be suprised if the Rox win tomorrow or against Golden State. The fact is in a playoff series were coaching, strategy, IQ, etc come into the equation, against the better teams I don't give the Rox a good chance.

 

Then the knee jerkers will quite down until the next loss.
