Would you guys grab him at the 16th spot in the draft? He's got good size for a PF at 6'11 and 230 pounds. Might be able to play center if he beefs up. He's got some good post moves and has tremendous athleticism. Can knock down the occasional NBA 3. Has a good mid-range game, but will be a difference maker on defense at the next level. Is compared to Jermaine O'Neal. If we trade Scola, he may be a good pickup to play the PF/C.

Depends on who is available at 16, there are many guys with great upside in the mid of 1st round.

I really like Moutrie. You seem like a very basketball educated guy.... do you think that Moultri could play center at 6'11, 230 pounds if he beefs up a bit?

Could Moutrie play center? I really like his upside. Very athletic, good D, nice shot, good post moves

I like his style. If we don't pick him up at 16, we should consider making a deal with whomever to get him

Yep. I can just imagine him and Donuts working together, with Beal, Dragic, Parsons on the perimeter.

As you said, the main problem is his body. He needs to add strength to be able to bang inside vs. legit NBA centers, right now they'd push him around.
Also needs to work on his post-moves and footwork, has no real move in the paint. He could score a lot in college because of his size and athleticsm, but that won't work in the NBA.
He averaged under 1 block per game, that would be a problem for his team at the next level if he tries to play center. I don't see it happen though as he actually played SF for a long time and some consider him a tweener between 3 and 4.

Think he will turn out to be a solid PF in this league.

Nerveless, even if he can't play C, he would be a great pickup. Draft him, and we are set at PF for the next 10+ years with Donuts coming over.

Personally I hope we gamble on Fab Melo, is one of the guys with the biggest upside in this draft. Character issues aside he can be a force on defense. Also has good footwork, ball-iq and midrange game.

Other way would be trading a few spots up to draft Zeller.

    Agreed.

I still hope we get additional picks and have a draft that gets us something like Moultrie, Melo, Wroten, Ross/Doron Lamb/Taylor. Trade away Scola, K-Mart, Lowry, try to move Bud, Pat and we'd have tons of promising youngsters to develop over the next years.

Good idea. Maybe trade Dalembert, Martin, Lowry for Blazers 6th and 2nd round picks. Draft Bradley Beal. Draft Kendall Marshal with 14th. Draft Arnett Moultrie with 16th. Trade Scola for to some team with a later 1st round pick. Draft Fab Melo. Re-sign Lee and Dragic.

    PG-Goran Dragic/Kendall Marshall
    SG-Bradley Beal/Courtney Lee
    SF-Chandler Parsons/Marcus Morris/Chase Budinger
    PF- Donatas Motiejunas/Arnett Moultrie/Patrick Patterson
    C- Marcus Camby/Fab Melo

Very unlikley, because this is a complete rebuild and not part of the Rockets plans, but dang, we would be amazing in the future.

He's more suited for power forward, as he doesn't really have the size of center and the all-around post presence to be a mainstay at center, right now.

He's perfect at power forward, there wouldn't be any reason to move him over, if a team needs a power forward.

I could see him going to Detroit, New Orleans, Orlando, Boston, or Houston.

This would be my dream outcome, but we all know it'll probably never happen. :(

Sigh, if only Les would finally accept rebuilding. Sigh, if only. :(
