I find it odd that Seattle has not made any moves yet. In my opinion, they are waiting for Mo to get pissed off and start looking around. Hakeem, if you are out there, you are really about to screw things up for the Rockets! Mo Taylor is more important to the Rockets than you are. ------------------
If Mo Taylor was more important to the Rockets than Hakeem, and if they thought he would sign somewhere else, they would renounce Hakeem and sign him. Obviously, the Rockets aren't worried. Why should we be worried? ------------------ Protrolls.com! Keep the ???? alive! The ZRBucks!
They are trying to move Baker before they do anything else. However, Baker has shown up again in the worst shape of his life. I think that Taylor will be taken care of by the Rockets. ------------------ Stevierebel
If Hakeem is more important than Mo Taylor, why won't the Rockets up Hakeem's offer, like you suggest? Mo Taylor knows the reason the Rockets aren't upping Hakeem's offer is him, so he won't leave. Don't worry about that. ------------------ Draftsource.net-- the premier source for draft info. Profiles, rankings, mock drafts, and more! The Mo Taylor Fan Site
I am sure Taylor was told by the Rockets that he will be "taken care of", but how long should he wait? I know Seattle would like Mo, and Mo would not mind playing there if he left. Two years ago, when Hakeem told the Rockets that 2000-2001 would be his last year, the Rockets made their plans for the future and committed to SA and MoT. Now Hakeem is screwing up RudyT and CD's plans. If the Rockets want to be a franchise that is attractive to free agents, it is imperative that SA and MoT get paid back for signing below average contracts in the past. If the league feels that RudyT and CD do not honor their promises (including under the table deals), then this franchise will suffer. Hakeem changed his plans, but the Rockets CANNOT afford to alter their perceived promises to SA and MoT. Renounce Hakeem and sign MoT. The negative PR will be forgotten when the Rockets make the playoffs next year. We can not afford to lose MoTaylor to a division rival like Seattle. We can, however, afford to lose Hakeem. ------------------
Does anybody else find it ironic, that nobody seems concern with Faulk. Normally, he is the one that brings fear during negotiations. But now everybody is afraid of Feagan. When Feagan gets done with Hakeem conrtract, just wait to see what he does to the Rockets for Mooch & Anderson. ------------------
I'm fairly certain that the Rockets have already agreed to a contract in principle with Mo Taylor. The reason for the Rockets' rigidity in their negotiations with Hakeem is that Mo's already-agreed-upon contract will not allow any more room for Hakeem. If anyone knows anything about David Falk (Mo's agent), they know that other players will have to be traded rather than have his client take a penny less in his contract. Don't worry. Mo's probably already "signed" with the team. We just can't announce it until Hakeem is signed, traded, or renounced. ------------------
Aren't you the one going from thread to thread screaming about the Rockets are letting go of Olajuwon and it's a disgrace? Sounds like you're worried, Tweak. ------------------ "I'll tell you this, the older I get, the less I trust people. It's true. It's damn true." -- gr8-1 going through some growing pains. barbourdg, I hate to even think about what you're saying, but you're so right. I've been just waiting for the dominoes to fall as soon as hakeem's situation is resolved, naively forgetting that fecal still will be at the center of most of our negotiations. but because he will still be involved, the bending-over of the rockets will not end with hakeem. fecal will use the mavs to up moochie's numbers to who knows where and will make us sweat that one out, too. I think there are plenty of teams looking for a backup point guard with moochie's verve. but, on the other hand, I don't really care what he does with shandon. I don't have anything against him, but I don't think he fits in our system, and I don't think anything about that is going to change. as it is, I think he just keeps us from finding out what we really do or don't have in langhi and morris. if we do sign anderson, I hope we'll trade him somewhere for something more valuable to us. I don't know what, though. maybe somebody who can rebound and foul shaq. ------------------ houston rockets = 2 utah jazz = 0
oh, I am sooooo worried that Feagan will make Shandon hold out in a long contract dispute ------------------
I think the person to get squeezed out will be Anderson. Obviously Taylor is the most important FA, so he'll get his money. Olajuwon is second and Moochie a close 3rd. Anderson is 4th and Bullard 5th -- but Bullard can sign for the vet minimum and is not at all inclined to leave Houston. So, if we have to increase our offers to anyone, it will cut into Anderson's pie to force him to go elsewhere. That's too bad, imo, because I like Anderson and I think he brings something unique to the team. Unlike most people, I think he fits the system quite well because he's strong where our other 2s and 3s are weak and will complement the others well. ------------------ RealGM Gafford Art Artisan Cakes
I think that if Anderson was going anywhere, he would have already gone. I believe that the Rockets will keep him. ------------------ "If you don't understand it, don't try to understand it." -Carl Everett
