I am sure alot of you have noticed that we have 4 of the top 11 1st round draft picks of 2009 on our 3rd string roster. But it seems that the rest of their classmates have flourished much better then they have. Is the coaching staff to blame for their blunders or is it just the Rockets organization is just unlucky.....

Are the Nets, T'Wolves, Knicks and Grizzlies bad at developing talent?

3 of those guys were basically throw-in's to deals. Yes, they missed on the Terrence Williams deal.

I'd trade all our 09ers for any of those uncircled players on your list.

So? If you are bad, you are bad.. No amount of coaching is going to get the stank out. Virtually all those guys were thrown in, and TWill's issue is between his ears.

The thing is the Rockets got all these guys then decided not to go young and play them, sort of ruined the entire reason for getting them in the first place.

Yes you can find out some things in practice, but mostly you find out a lot in game situations, young guys need burn on the court to find out where they fit and get their confidence.

Jordan Hill has had his moments, Flynn too, Twill as well, and Thabeet played pretty well his rookie year with consistent PT.

So, why bother getting them if you are not going to at least TRY to play them......oh well, que cera cera (or however you spell it.)

Why do you think the teams that originally drafted them gave up on them? They would not be on the Rockets if they had done as good as some of the draft class mates.

    They busted.

Almost all of Morey's picks that actually put a uni on have turned out well. Landry, Brooks, Bud, Patterson.

Houston's had horrible luck when it comes to FAs, though: Derek Anderson, Bonzi, Brad Miller, Trevor Ariza

Aaron Brooks and Carl Landry developed pretty well.

I wouldn't blame the Rockets for not being able to develop players they didn't draft and were probably never particularly high on.

Sure they have. Do you think all/any of those players will go on and develop into something later on with a different team?

The Rockets can only do so much. Part of it is on the players too. They have to want it. They have to have the motivation too. Morey has mentioned several times with Hill: he'll either find that fire from within or he won't.

Kyle Lowry, Aaron Brooks, Carl Landry, Patterson... - some of the games previously mentioned in the past as players developed. Now they can't develop talent? Or is that just credit to Rick Adelman for developing them?

The "not to go young" Rockets are playing 25-yr-old Dragic as backup PG over Flynn, rookie Parsons (and, tonight, class of 2009 2nd round pick Budinger) over Terrence Williams on the wing, class of 2010 member Patterson as the primary backup big over Hill and Thabeet.

The Rockets have plenty of "young" players getting minutes, just not those 4.

Other teams are bad at recognizing talent.
