Are the Rockets losing respect around the league?

Used to be the Loveable Losers ... perennial mediocre teams who would 'give em hell' but always finish 41-41.

 

Come on, few Rocket fans respect this team

 

Everyone loved lambasting the Rockets for firing McHale, but you don't see any rumors about any teams going out of their way to try and hire McHale, do you?

It's a complete double standard when it comes to all things Houston. I hope Ethan Sherwood Strauss falls out of a window and impales himself on a pole.

 

Wouldn't they need at least 1 other young fun playmaker on the team for that to happen?

 

I really don't think the Rockets have truly had respect since the 09 season, especially when we went up 1-0 on the Lakers in the 2nd round. The last two years we really didn't have respect, but that probably primarily because Dwight and James are some of the least liked stars in the league.

This year the lack of respect is obviously deserved.

 

We did not have respect for the last 5-7 years and not enough respect in the Yao years

 

How much respect does a .500 or worse team deserve ?

 

It doesn't matter how the media treats the Rockets if we miss the playoffs.

What's far more critical is how it would impact Durant and other free agents' mindset on joining here.

If the Rockets and our fans want respect maybe we should aim to get out of the first round on a consistent basis. We get no respect because we've been garbage for almost two decades now.

 

Even the fans lost respect to this year team. Most of you quit and give up on the team and now your are blaming the media didn't respect the team??

Only one player in this team i don't have respect with is Dwight. I just don't like his attitude.

 

this team sucks, it would be the ultimate irony if they knocked off the media darling warriors. I know it won't happen but... it would be ever so funny

You have to have self-respect, and also win to earn any respect.

The Rockets haven't had either since the championship years.

 

I do not think anyone would hate on Rockets. It is simply because this team have not been constructed and played well enough. Who would respect a team struggling for playoff spot after 10 years rebuilding?

I personally believe a lot of players view Morey as a guy who flips people a lot, and as such probably think twice about signing here.

And, yes, I think that hurts our rep.

Never had a losing season in how long? Conference Finals? never could get the third star.. Look at Miami with Bosh? What Dallas and Parsons ring? Where is Mello's Ring? Lakers are Garbage including the Knicks.. no one is beating the Warriors but the Warriors.. Star Players better unite or you never beating the Warriors in your prime.. that's why Lebron going to leave the Cavs... Durant leaving the Thunder... I guess im the older generation to see 2 championships... some people here are too spoiled.. Go be a Sixers fan or Bucks Fan.. and see how you like those apples...
