Are the Rockets a "destination franchise" for a star this summer?

Honestly Lin Wouldn't be a be pickup at a way lower price. He has the potential to catch fire and he has the youth and athleticism that terry and prigs don't. He would've been an upgrade in the playoffs basically.

And I care more about winning than board tolerability.

I agree about Harden. I think Harden is respected by other NBA players. But the point I was making was Dwight is the problem. Dwight is a good player, and everyone knows that. I just don't think other players really want to play with Dwight.

I wouldn't say "Destination Franchise" but I do believe that the entire league took notice of Harden's ascendance. Sure he ended the season on an awful note with that 13 turnover game that left a bad taste in everybody's mouth, but he proved that he was an MVP-caliber player and he was the Player's MVP based on all the tweets he got in support of his candidacy.

If Melo and Bosh were FAs this year, I believe the growth in James from "Very good All-Star" to "Great MVP candidate" and the Rockets' playoff success would've been enough to entice one of those 2 guys to come.

I think you're allowing ESPiN to mislead you into equating fan perception with player perspective.
History shows that NBA players aren't particularly swayed by public sentiment when it comes to free agency.

If the Rockets had the necessary cap space I can all but guarantee they would be reported to be at the top of Aldridge's list.
ESPiN would likely still have them behind Dallas, San Antonio, and L.A. much the way they did during Howard's free agency.

I feel we are a place where free agents want to play. Play for a championship right away. Also they will get to play with Harden and Howard.

No, I'm forming my opinion on how star players in the NBA call him a p***y. You don't see one star player attack other star players in such a way very often. Also, Dwight doesn't have close relationships with other star players. You see Dwight hanging out with rookies and people the team has hired to be his friend. Dwight, in my opinion, is not real popular with other star players.
