I was feeling bored at work so I wrote a program to go through every team and find the record of its opposition in wins and the record of the opposition when they lose. In most cases usually when they lose the oppositions record is good. Except for one team the Baltimore ravens. The record of the teams they have beaten is over 500 and the record of the teams they have lost to is under 500. The only other teams to have beaten teams that combined have a record over 500 is the Rams. The Raven decide to step up in big games and stink it up against clunkers. green-bay-packers When Losing Team Wins0 Losses:0 When Winning Team Wins52 Losses:69 new-orleans-saints When Losing Team Wins17 Losses:16 When Winning Team Wins38 Losses:50 chicago-bears When Losing Team Wins33 Losses:11 When Winning Team Wins31 Losses:46 atlanta-falcons When Losing Team Wins30 Losses:14 When Winning Team Wins26 Losses:51 philadelphia-eagles When Losing Team Wins46 Losses:31 When Winning Team Wins19 Losses:25 st-louis-rams When Losing Team Wins52 Losses:47 When Winning Team Wins12 Losses:10 new-york-giants When Losing Team Wins29 Losses:26 When Winning Team Wins26 Losses:40 washington-redskins When Losing Team Wins38 Losses:39 When Winning Team Wins16 Losses:28 arizona-cardinals When Losing Team Wins41 Losses:36 When Winning Team Wins11 Losses:33 carolina-panthers When Losing Team Wins52 Losses:36 When Winning Team Wins7 Losses:26 jacksonville-jaguars When Losing Team Wins52 Losses:36 When Winning Team Wins14 Losses:19 tennessee-titans When Losing Team Wins33 Losses:22 When Winning Team Wins25 Losses:41 baltimore-ravens When Losing Team Wins13 Losses:20 When Winning Team Wins52 Losses:36 pittsburgh-steelers When Losing Team Wins24 Losses:9 When Winning Team Wins36 Losses:52 seattle-seahawks When Losing Team Wins46 Losses:31 When Winning Team Wins20 Losses:24 san-francisco-49ers When Losing Team Wins15 Losses:7 When Winning Team Wins44 Losses:55 dallas-cowboys When Losing Team Wins25 Losses:19 When Winning Team Wins31 Losses:46 new-york-jets When Losing Team Wins37 Losses:18 When Winning Team Wins27 Losses:39 miami-dolphins When Losing Team Wins49 Losses:39 When Winning Team Wins13 Losses:20 new-england-patriots When Losing Team Wins19 Losses:14 When Winning Team Wins41 Losses:47 san-diego-chargers When Losing Team Wins49 Losses:28 When Winning Team Wins15 Losses:29 minnesota-vikings When Losing Team Wins62 Losses:37 When Winning Team Wins7 Losses:15 tampa-bay-buccaneers When Losing Team Wins56 Losses:21 When Winning Team Wins17 Losses:27 detroit-lions When Losing Team Wins34 Losses:10 When Winning Team Wins33 Losses:44 kansas-city-chiefs When Losing Team Wins41 Losses:36 When Winning Team Wins13 Losses:31 buffalo-bills When Losing Team Wins35 Losses:31 When Winning Team Wins27 Losses:28 oakland-raiders When Losing Team Wins23 Losses:21 When Winning Team Wins37 Losses:40 denver-broncos When Losing Team Wins35 Losses:20 When Winning Team Wins31 Losses:35 cincinnati-bengals When Losing Team Wins31 Losses:13 When Winning Team Wins26 Losses:51 cleveland-browns When Losing Team Wins46 Losses:31 When Winning Team Wins10 Losses:34 indianapolis-colts When Losing Team Wins62 Losses:59 When Winning Team Wins0 Losses:0 houston-texans When Losing Team Wins23 Losses:10 When Winning Team Wins31 Losses:57
The Ravens will go as far as Flacco takes them. Their post-season hopes ride on his shoulders. They will be tough to beat if he brings his "A" game.
They will go so far as their OC will take them. Thinking he has Peyton Manning under center, they fizzle in the first round of the play-offs. Remembering he has a pretty solid game manager under center and they could make the super bowl.
Flacco isn't impressive game in game out in the way the great QBs are, but he has probably the best deep ball in the game. With Torrey Smith as the deep threat, it makes the offense that much more dangerous.
Nope the ravens will go far if they keep giving the ball to Ray Rice. against the jags he got 8 carries, against the seahawks he got 5 carries. Even Terrell Suggs complained, after the lost against Jacksonville, the lack of carries of Ray Rice.
They won't be playing the Jags and Seahawks in the post-season. It's very simple: In the playoffs, Joe Flacco will have to make plays. If he does, they will go to the Super Bowl. If he doesn't they won't. "Keep giving the ball to Ray Rice" is a very good plan against weaker teams during the regular season and we can only guess what the Ravens were thinking against Jacksonville and Seattle. That was mind-blowing. Another big key for them is Anquan Boldin. They will need him to make plays late in playoff games like he did earlier against Arizona and Pittsburgh (2nd game). I've been a Flacco doubter for a long time, but I think this may be his year to get the Ravens over the hump.
I guarantee you if they only give Rice 8 carries against the Niners they lose the game. I think that's the point he was trying to make. Oh, and just for fun, they won't be playing the likes of the Cards and perhaps not even the Steelers.
