Derozan needs some love. He's become a fine playmaker and if he keeps hitting the 3 at a decent clip, he's a top 10-15 player
People notice them but everyone just auto-assumes that they can't beat the Cavs so why bother. I think they CAN beat the Cavs.
I agree. Its the same story with the rockets when we are playing well. Casual fans only pay attention to lebron and the warriors. Real nba fans recognize good teams playing well IMO
The Raptors are always around this spot but they quite frankly, we know who this team is. They haven't made any major adjustments in a number of years and pretty much everyone knows what their ceiling is. What hasn't worked in the last 5 years isn't all of a sudden gonna click this year.
No we dont. Every year is a new year. Im open minded to the potential they have to be legit. Lets wait and see. Dont sound like the rockets haters who say “but we know dantoni systems always choke in the playoffs”
Thats not the same, the Rockets have made drastic alterations to their roster almost every year, there is always a chance something new works out. Lowry and Derozan have tapped out their potential, they are veteran players who have reached their peak. Without adding another significant piece, they are essentially the same team they have been for years. There is no more potential
It's almost entirely the same roster that was over matched against the Cavs, the same Cavs team that was over matched by the Warriors. They are clearly having better regular season results, but there's just no real reason to feel that they have improved enough to make up that huge a gulf. They could make the finals, but they just don't feel like a threat.
I think their ceiling is similar to the early 2000s Nets. Good enough to make it to the finals, not good enough to go more than five games or so
