Last year's Portland Trailblazers started the season 5-1, beating teams such as the Nuggets, Thunder, and Lakers. Then they went 27-33 for the rest of the season, and did not make the playoffs.
Stoudemire plays so much matador defense that PETA has filed a lawsuit to put a stop to bullfighting in the NBA.
"Anything less than a championship or a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals will be considered a failure." A real thing typed by a real poster on RealGM.
They have beat Miami, Boston and SA. The rest of their wins were against either bad teams or teams missing their best player. Its a better start than I would have envisioned. But the season is a long one and old teams show the wear and tear more than young ones. I would say they are a good team, but I am not going to sign off on them being a great team till they have 50 or 60 games under their belt (and continue to play this well).
Knicks are off to a great start. Their roster is relatively healthy. Amare injury was somewhat a blessing in disguise. It's a long season and here are the forseeable problems they are facing: 1. Once Stat comes back, how will they solve the problem of spacing? Unless he comes off the bench, which is unlikely. 2. Melo plays the 4, it's a lot more physical than the 3. Will it have a long term affect on him physically? 3. Knicks are one of the oldest teams in history of NBA. Staying healthy is not a luxury for them. They WILL suffer injuries during the long grind season. Who will become injured and seriousness of injuries will dictate their season and postseason. 4. NY media either love you or hate you. How will the players respond to the scrutiny of NY media when they start losing?
When you think about it, the knicks are basically configured like the Dallas Maverick championship team. Kidd Melo (Dirk) Chandler
The refs took over the NY - Memphis game. I like both teams but to me it looked like NYK was taken out of their game by Ed Malloy (sp?) and friends. How did that guy get a head ref position?
