Pet peeve of mine. It's "intents and purposes." "Intensive purposes" doesn't really make sense.

Well, you weren't. But if you were then you would say intense purposes, which is still an extremely awkward turn of phrase.

 

I don't mean to be intense on purpose because my intent is to have a purpose, but for all intents and purposes my intentions have no purpose.
