The walls of Chula Vista protect me from that which I seek. The streets. The streets are calling. Prison done changed a brotha. Does anyone here play craps? It's much harder than poker.
My game of choice, although it hasn't been too kind to me in quite a long time. Breaking even or nearly breaking even is a win for me these days.
Its the most fun you can have at a casino (when things are going well)... but be sure to have tons of cash to withstand the lulls.
Love me some craps. It's not harder than poker. Wheee a honeybear thread. Isn't it just "dice" for you hard knock skid row ex con types? Which should make it an even simpler game.
Craps. One third of the 3 legs of the gambling "holy trinity". (Poker, Sports Betting, Craps). Yes, I play it and love it. No, it is in no way harder than Poker.
Just got off a cruise ship yesterday with a with a mini casino royale on it. Bought in twice with a hundred on craps. Lost it quick first time, up three hundred the second. Game was moving too fast when I lost, couldn't keep up with what was happening. When I won, I was the only player. Bought in on black jack twice with one hundred, lost both bills. Dealer was dominating. Lost a hundred on two games called Caribbean stud and ultimate Texas hold em. These games are just flat garbage. No wonder they were always empty. Then finally won five hundred off one bill at three card poker. Just ridiculous luck betting a side bet of the your cards plus the dealers. Consistent 10 dollar bets there and five or so flushes, straights, or full house paying anywhere from 15-25 to 1. Overall satisfied with my results. Killed probably 8-10 hours and had quite the few beverages.
When I was very young, I used to play it even to the extent that I learned to count cards. But 2 things turned me off. First, the pace of the dealers means you can lose a lot of money pretty fast. Second, counting cards might help you win but it becomes too much like work. Besides, if I want to gamble while playing cards I'll just play poker.
I don't know what streets you're from but we always called it shooting dice or rolling dice... It's not harder than poker but you can win or lose faster than you would at poker. I always avoid craps at the casino though... It's like giving money away.
Craps is fun, but it is not harder than poker. I get kind of mindless whenever I shoot dice, so I prefer the mental stimulation of blackjack or poker.
I always think "how long did I have to work to earn that much versus how long did it take me to loose it", "did I have more fun losing it than I had drudgery making it."
Playing the pass line and odds bets are usually the best odds in the casino depending on what the limits are. All the other stuff on the table is for suckers. Even playing pass line only can be quick money, for good or for bad. You need a lot to start with to withstand the ups and downs so I usually don't stick around the table for too long (usually go in with $100 or $200 tops and that can last about 10 minutes). But it is a quick way to turn $500 into $1000 or more.
