Just got my email. Was very bittersweet; I could get one delivered in 3-6 weeks if I upgraded the battery and added the premium package for a total of $49k or "hold my place" for a much of the same waiting game for a standard version in late '18. There is going to be dual motor option available in mid '18 though.
I'm probably not car shopping for another 5 years (when my oldest turns 16), but I'm really feeling my next car will be a Tesla. Definitely wanting a car with autopilot.
Dont forget, a standard executive robotic chef, that will cook you any meal on the way home from work.
Havent read about this feature yet but surely itll cost extra. A fee Im willing to pay with no hesitation.
Nope. Not getting in line. They have years to go before they can get their quality up. Too new of a car maker for me to spend 50K on.
Not trying to argue but the general consensus from owners seem to be they LOVE the car but it's not because of how well it's made.
Maybe, but this is definitely a knock on Tesla. Brand new, they look and feel amazing, but after 15-20 thousand miles, the lack of quality begins showing up. They just haven't figured out the stuff that the other car manufactures had 100 years to figure out yet. A used Tesla with 40,000 miles feels like it has double that on the interior. Even Tesla fans will tell you this.
This. That's what I was trying to convey. They are a new company. They can barely make enough cars on time. Rich people don't care about these issues. They will just deal with it for a little bit and get something else. If they did, you think all these people would drive range rovers (one of the least reliable cars out there)? but if you save up money to get a telsa, you might be a little disappointed with the quality. that's all.
I'm genuinely curious about this. Never heard that before about Tesla cars. What things about Tesla cars decline after the first couple years?
Anyone else get their car in? Auto pilot is saving my life in Houston traffic. This car is effin amazing and KILLS any comparable car in its class. Not even close imo. I'm in a FB group with very early adopters. No complaints about interior issues.. just about the door handles on the S. They all love their cars still and many of them do things like the XPEL clear wrap or liquid ceramic coatings.. i.e. they care about their cars so I would have heard by now. Also, for the couple that mentioned how other auto makers have a 100 year head start. I’ve been thinking the opposite.. it’s embarrassing how behind other auto makers are of Tesla
Btw, I switched my electricity provider to Just Energy. Free electricity from 9 PM - 7 AM so I am seeing 100% gas savings. #winning
lots of model 3 articles lately. This is interesting https://www.bloomberg.com/news/feat...-s-model-3-became-elon-musk-s-version-of-hell More here https://www.bloomberg.com/news/feat...-s-model-3-became-elon-musk-s-version-of-hell
Lexus is on a different level in quality than a bmw, benz, audi, or tesla. They don't build cars designed to breakdown. They also make their cars easier to fix. They aren't routing cable like crazy.
